Your imported images are too large. Make them the right size before importing them.

I'm importing from other users.
Looks like everything I import is too small and not a lot of users utilize the Retina Ipad image size
post #303 of 356
You just need to import the 3x images. I had the similar issue setting up a Nexus 7 2013, everything was too small (low dpi).

You would think, but alas it is not. There is no scaling offered in the builder )c: so you have to scale them outside of builder and reimport them. But there is no process for getting graphics out of builder. CATCH 22. If you have Android, you'll find the graphics you use located on the device at /Android/data/com.irule.activity/cache/iruleimages/

While I like and use iRule, and chose it as the best alternative to meet my needs, it really does feel like a "0.9" release. In this day and age, for any authoring tool of graphical user interfaces not to support scaling is literally unheard of.

What do you mean import the 3X images? Is it the method described below?

Sure does seem silly that way...Would be nice if IRule had additional filters on "User Shared Files" which filtered to the size of your device.

I bought the Pro version yesterday to use "User Panels"...its been a complete waste thus far as I'm only using the basic buttons

Sorry, that should be x3. Search the iRule image library for x3 and those will be the "retina" compatible images. The easy way to pull in the x3 graphics is to simply create a handset that uses retina and then delete the handset. To see high res User images then try searching for Retina. I really hate the marketing of Retina because it is just stupid. Just use high resolution or high DPI...

I just use the Black Gloss theme, but I draw from the x1, x1.5, x2, and x3 libraries (mainly the x3 and x2).

Ok thanks, I found the X3 library. This is a bit better.
I noticed a few blank buttons, how do I get that image into another program in order to create a new button? For instance, I want a blank activity for my receiver and would like to attach a picture of a receiver in there

Download these http://video.iruleathome.com/downloads/iRule_Default_blank_images-Retina.zip

This is from the Support / Downloads page.

Hey guys, love what you guys are doing here!

I thought I'd share some panels and ideas we've been throwing around lately. Trying to keep things really clean and simple, while pleasing power users can be difficult but I think we're heading in the right direction.

Home screen

Blu-ray Player

Apple Tv (Using gestures)

Tv

Lighting

There's more but that gives a pretty good idea of the direction we're heading in.

I always appreciate constructive criticism as well.

Thanks!

Yes! I do.Hopefully your company someday may be willing to sell them.I wish irule had some options for buying custom templates which would make it so much easier for people like me who have limited Photoshop skills.

You can download CoPilot for free to resize your images. Very easy to use http://www.guifx.com/software/CoPilot
post #314 of 356
If you click on the eye to view the images then hold the Ctrl + Left click on the mouse you can drag the image to your desktop.

Anyone have a set of brushed metal for Pioneer (just the name), and, a generic projector (or Epson) source type images, in all 3 states (pressed, etc.) that they would be willing to share?

Josh,

I like your panels. I am just starting with iRule. I have figured out that "shade pulls" at left and bottom of panels are pinned draws. Do you have screen shots of panels with the draws open? Am I correct in assuming that one of your other TV panels is for Favorites? Can you post the other 2 TV panels?

Oh, one other thing. Are the left arrow and green WiFi signal icons at the bottom of the panels part of iRule? If they are, how are they used?

Thank you,
Turbo20

Turbo20,

Thanks for the compliment.

I don't have my iPad with my which is where I keep my screen shots, I can try to upload them the next time i'm near it.

You are correct about the other two TV panels, they are "His" and "Hers" favorites channel, panels. Not really much to show there, which is why I didn't think they needed to be uploaded.

The left arrow in the bottom is a back button, which, when pressed navigates back to the last panel you were on. I didn't think I would use it but I find myself using it more than expected.
The green arrow is used to help show your gateways and their status'.

Green means everything is working as expected, yellow means one of the gateways is have trouble and red means that the gateway can't be found at all. If you press that icon, in any color, it will pop up a hidden drawer that shows the status of each gateway individually.

I hope that helps.

Memmo,

Did you finally use iRule? Can you post your current screenshots for TV and DVD?

Thank you,

Here is a design I did on my phone remote. Still working on the redesign for the Ipad.
Everything is done pretty much through XBMC, including netflix (launches WMC Netflix) and tmt5. I have written a pretty long list of event ghost commands to make it all effortless for the wife.

How do I ask a question on this thread?

Ok, I see how to ask a question on this thread...

Does anyone have or know where to find ipad mini landscape screen shots that show drawers?

Thank you

Memmo's design inspired me to redo my whole layout in anticipating of finishing the basement in the next 60-90 days and having my full set up down there. I started from scratch in Illustrator using his images as a guide to figure out what I liked and didn't like. I kept some of the main design structure and changed some things based on my preferences and need.

The background image is Minneapolis (where I live). My intention is to make that user selectable (so my wife could pick a background of our son or flowers, etc.).

Great stuff John. Is Memmo's stuff shared under that name? Love the simple looking graphics, did you make those shadow boxes?

I don't know if his stuff is shared or not, I just used the pics he posted here for inspiration and made everything myself in Illustrator.

For all those that are interested, hang tight for a bit, I'm working on a more "official" version of the UI that will be made available when its ready.
