Irule Remote picture thread - Page 4

While in iRule Builder, so a search for the buttom type you want. Just typing [stainless] will get you a good start. From the iBuilder search folders you can drag & drop into your folder/desktop. You can not drag & drop from the image folders within your active Builder 'application,' it must be from the search folder. (that's where I had trouble at first).

Next drag the button from your desktop, etc to the paint program of choice. Paint dot net is free & works very well. Keep an eye on the size of the pics. You can resize in Paint which allows you to be more accurate in your placement on your page. Good luck.

So are those lines before and after the words part of the image? That is very clean and nice looking. Just curious how you set that up.

Thanks, Neil. No, the lines are separate from the background. They can be moved and dragged around the BG image. The lines (including text) were created in Photoshop and then saved as .png images. They were then added to my images database in the builder where they were dragged onto the background layer. All of the graphics you see in these two images are shared in the Builder, just do a search for meowcat's.
I tried making the lines part of the background image but getting things lined up properly was nearly impossible.

I see you have a Wii button... can Wii be controlled via iRule as well? (at least turn it on??)

No, the only thing my Wii button does is change the input on my TV. I still have to manually turn on the console.

how are you controlling itunes through iRule? I have been looking for a solution that works good and have come up with none. I have a htpc connected to my receiver and am controlling it over ip but nothing easily for itunes. Thanks for the input

I'm not controlling iTunes with iRule. As far as I know it can't be done. When I press the iTunes button in my UI, it links to a page that explains how to use iTunes. It also changes the input on my receiver. I have full 2-way control of iTunes on my iPad with all of my music streaming to my receiver using Airport Express.

BTW, how did you know I was controlling iTunes with my iPad?

after downloading your buttons from the irule builder I figured that you were using it to control itunes. Thanks for the input.

My destop right now

This is my multi TV config. I use a lot of buttons from other people's libraries. The buttons that say Center / Left / Right / Middle change my IR router but since using iRule I have been using HTTP commands with each box!

You probably thought that the fact that you have three TV's went unnoticed? No-no-no I saw it!! That's awesome.

Not to be picky but it is 4 tv's For watching football. I'll post a real pic so you can see but the buttons is the shape of the 4 tv's.

Very nice looking cabinetry! With your 4 TV's I guess you have 4 matching screens and as you select each TV button it turns to the page controlling that TV? My brother has a lot of TV's and I need to do something like this for him. thanks for posting.

That's right. I have four Directv boxes connected to a 6x6 matrix switch. I control each box via http but before iRule I used an ir router to select which box to control with my harmony.

and judging from the backdrop, I assume there is a PJ screen behind your 4 TV too ??

That is correct. The tvs go down, the curtain opens, and I watch the projector. Four tvs Sunday during the day and Sunday night football on the pj.
