Anyone know where I can obtain a service manual for this RPTV? The magic focus on the front doesn't work anymore, it automatically puts me in to static mode now. Anyone know what secret button to hit to reset this?
I've seen lots of same Hitachi RPTV sets with same convergence problems.
The most common defected part is the digital convergence module(aka CHIP BOARD). Factory asks $300 for a new one. I fixed one module by replacing E2prom(SMT) and some leak SMT capacitors on that board.
After you have E2prom and caps replaced, Enter service mode by shorting 2 test pins (behind focus pack).
It will take another 2-3 hours to get pre initialized convergence DONE!
