Hold the "Exit" button on your remote for 10 seconds.

It is strange that Samsung would leave Game Mode out on a new TV. Game Mode turns of all video processing off and gives you whatever the source is giving it. When Game Mode is on, I think the image looks more natural since enabling Game Mode is the only true way to turn off Noise Reduction. When game mode is enabled, the TV's FPS (Frames per Second) increases.

Personally, I like Game Mode, especially when playing Bluray's. They don't need noise reduction and when Game Mode is enabled, your TV is displaying exactly whats on that disc without trying to alter the frames, image or any other aspect of the video.

I just tried game mode on my D7000, it's incredible, clouding has been reduced by approximately 1000%, everything is smooth now, i will try a Blu-Ray tonight.

So far i've tried HDTV and a PS3 game (Warhammer 40k) and both looked great, the motion is really faster that way and that's the way i like it.

Wondering how much difference game mode would be with watching only tv (angenna/cable). I'm able to turn on game mode with the ps3 so should be ok with blurays. Costco does have a 90 day return so have some time to decide.

I use Game mode for watching TV. I would only recommend this for HD channels though because your going to want some type of noise reduction for SD channels.

Yea, I like Game Mode the best as well. You just have to tone the brightness and color down and it's the most realistic picture you can get on this TV.

Folks,

This TV rocks, but one of the reasons I was looking forward to using it was the DLNA capability with AllShare. Problem is .. I can't get it to work.

My XP machine (which has all my media) running WMP11 picks up on the TV being online and allows me to choose it as a device to "Share my media to:". But when I hit the AllShare app under SmartHub, it keeps telling me there is no device connected. This despite the fact that under Network Settings/Allshare it clearly seems to be able to see my XP PC and even its host name as Allowed.

In other words .. AAAAAAARGH!

I even changed the IP to a static IP outside the DHCP range (but should be same subnet) AND disabled wireless and connected to my home network via a wired connection. I even disabled my security software completely.

The TV can connect to the Internet just fine.

Right now, I'm trying to set up the AllShare software I downloaded from Samsung (which takes forever to "Update shared list on computer").

Is this software really necessary if you already have a DLNA server on your PC (ie. WMP11)?

Am I just being too impatient and everything should work fine once the AllShare PC software finishes updating the list of shared files?

With DLNA, it really should be much easier than this.

Stupid question. Can Game Mode be turned on without having a gaming device? My Mom has a 7000 and the option is not selectable.

Yes, it should be selectable from the "system" menu then in "general" there should be a "game mode" option there.

I'm having the same problem. Only able to select game mode with the ps3. Resetted tv to factory setting, no luck.

Any tips on customizing the smart hub?

Can someone give me a link for game settings and what mode to have it on. Thanks. It's for playing on Xbox 360.

To answer my own question ... It would seem you need:
1. The Allshare software ... no native syncing to other DLNA systems
2. To ensure your TV has a wired connection .. doesn't seem to work on wireless at all

Found the Allshare forum so more learning to do I guess.

Well I've been using game mode for the last few days and it seems to have helped the stutter and chop I was getting from my Directv, but it hasn't cured it completely. I really want to say the problem lies with the Directv receiver, since my HTPC and Bluray don't exhibit this problem, but I never had this issue with my old TV. I'm pulling my hair out on this...ugh!

You should get your directv receiver replaced. i have DirectTv and I have no stuttering of any kind and I dont even use Game mode.

Which model do you have? I've tried a HR20 and HR21 so far with the same results for both.

I have the HR24-200 DVR. It is connected via HDMI to my Receiver and then from receiver to the TV. i guess You have already verified that your cables are fine etc?

I tested this with 10% grey color. My panel top have many vertical lines. Samsung engineer came down and said is the panel display uneven issue. They ask me go back buyer for 1-to-1 exchange.

wow.. that looks pretty bad! Definitely needs to be replaced!

Is D8000 less problem compare to D7000? thinking of top up to get that if less issues.

I read using the pc input is lag. How about the HDMI input, will it lag for games?

An update from my side, I had posted on this thread about the clouding problems on my 55" last month, I did on replacement with amazon and the second one was worse! I then returned it and got a 55" Panasonic GT30 plasma , have been using it for 1 week and I couldnt be happier, no signs of any issues. Plus it cost me 200 bucks less.

I've tested 2 different cables with the same result. It's almost like the receiver is just sending the wrong frame rate to the TV...if that's possible. IDK, I'm leaning towards calling Directv and getting a newer receiver...then Samsung if that doesn't fix it.

Where did you get the image to test with?

I'm thinking of picking up the 60" 7050 version of this set. Has anyone confirmed that it works with NVidia 3D Vision (I have 2 - 480's SLI). I'm also wondering if I can run the games at over 60 fps (with or without 3D). Thank you.

Nope. My D8000 was even worse than that. I had to fight to get Samsung to replace it.
