Well I guess it's lucky number 3. Went back to HH and they told me they had 4 more H301's but no 302/303. They said I can try all 4 if I want but when I got home and hooked this one up it is the best one yet. I have to really look to find anything wrong. After a couple adjustments to the settings I am now happy, awesome picture and great looking tv hanging like a picture over the fireplace.

If you don't have any other Bluetooth devices that are real close to the set and also on maybe interfering, I'd say the TV might have an issue.

Yeah their is an issue with the Bluetooth module in the TV taking it back to best buy tomorrow for a new one. Hopefully the new one won't have any issues.

It sucks to spend this kind of money on something then it broke out of the box.

Has anyone else had this issue with this TV?

My UN55D7000LF H303 was professionally installed for me today over a fireplace with full motion. I used the settings in the first post (thanks ). I still have a bit of work to do to learn how to use all the features but so far it is mostly problem free. As far as video quality I'm not happy with the dark scenes in netflix. It's pixled in the darkest parts and buffering is an issue. Probably need to upgrade my internet speed or adjust the settings a bit more. Blu- ray and 3D is great! No banding through the screen, flashing, or clouding issues noticed yet but it is a bit lighter than my liking on the top and bottom edge. This will be my next task to fix after I figure out how to enable the closed captioning. The installer has installed over 75 of these sets over the last couple of months and says those were trouble free. I did not buy any of the components from them.

I just tried the Samsung web cam with skype. Signel strength wasn't strong enough to be as clear as I would have liked. I liked the wide angle and the ability to have several us seated comfortably vs crowded hovering over a lap top. I'm hoping to find a way to mount it to the bottom of the screen vs the top though. The camera is going to be a tight fit on the top but it won't recognize it's on the bottom and flip the picture 180 degrees automatically.

I have it set up with a Yamaha RX-667, and a Panasonic BD-210.Can't tell how I will like cable yet. I refuse to sign up for another contract with Direct TV so I'm stuck with a very old standard satalite box for the moment. Green Light just put in lines for fiber optic cable with no contract which should be available in a couple of months.

I think I did ok on pricing. Bought it on black friday $1404, Yamaha was $299, panasonic $119, HDMI cables approx $9.99 each. Also got the Megamind starter kit. I prefer the battery vs the rechargable but may look into the other battery version. The black edge of the glasses is in view and I found that to be distracting.

I really have to say thank you to all who post here. I found most of the information here very helpful. I learned alot from you.

Flash lighting/Clouding: I noticed flash lighting on all four corners, with bright white rolling titles of a movie in the center with black background. Otherwise PQ and everything else has been good. It is a H302/Oct 2011. Should it be a good reason for a return/exchange?

Hi Tim,

Can you share which NAS device you are using and how you have shared the content? I tried sharing media on a synology box and the TV doesn't see anyt of the shared content. If I randomly chose few pictures and movies, copy those on a USB flash drive and attach to TV then I could easily see the pictures and/or movies. But the TV doesn't see a single item from NAS box over network. I was very surprised and trying to confirm if I am not sharing it right.

Thanks!

I have a D-Link DNS-323 NAS. It has a built in media server which I think is the key. I can also stream my media by using software like tversity. What ever serves the media should work.

I see FEB 2011 on the back of the TV and H302 on the TV box.

Just finished putting up my 55d7000 and I love the pq. My question is about sound out from the tv. Cable box>>>HDMI>>>tv>>out with 3.5 to HT. Sound comes out the HT but I have to control it with the HT remote. I use to be able to control both with my cable box remote, volume and channels. For The time being I ran the sound straight from the cable box to the HT and I can use one remote, but I will lose sound from the smart hub. I also turn the tv speakers off.

In other words I wand the tv to control the volume so I can leave the HT set to a certain level.

Compatible with SSG-3300GR, SSG-3300CR, SSG-3700CR 3D Glasses ONLY

After looking around for the charger and thee rechargeable 3D glasses I have come to the following conclusion.
If I watch five 3D movies a month it would be cheaper to buy the USB rechargeable ones or even buy a box of batteries because the cost is astronomical.

They say the glasses work for 70 hours on the batteries. That's a bunch.
They use these batteries,
Lithium 3V Batteries Size CR2025 , just over $1 a battery

Thank You for that battery link. Just ordered the 3 strips of 5.

I just got the set and have a few questions. Movie mode looks a little foggy to me. I like the look of the natural setting, but the colors are just not accurate and to bright. What setting can I change to get rid of the foggy look?

Also what is the best way to calibrate the White Balance and 10p White Balance. I do have DVD essentials, but not sure what reference image to use or how to go about this.

Wondering if any one can help me.

I'm trying to hook my macbook pro to the tv. I am hooking it up through HDMI and mini audio plug. (My year of macbook pro does not support audio through HDMI) HDMI is going to HDMI1 and audio to the mini jack under the HDMI jacks. Video works perfectly buy I am not getting any audio. I double checked the headphone out on the laptop and there definately is sound coming out of there.

Any ideas?

When do you see the flash lighting? Is it when most screen is black with something bright in the middle? And what was the answer? Did they say it is normal?

Go to System Preferences. Select Sound. Click on the output tab. Make sure that headphones/mini jack is selected and not internal speakers.

I have been playing with my 60" set for a week now and found my first problem. Component connection.

I have my XBox connected via Component. Mines does not support HDMI. At first I was not able to get any signal on component, but then noticed if I push the cable in (hard), I will get some picture. The picture is poor (XBox display, but almost all green coloring). I also hear a buzzing sound.

It might be the cable (component converting cable). But I worried it is the port itself. Will call hhgregg in the morning and see if I can get another cable to test.

Anyone else seen this problem? Or have a suggestion?

EDIT: I also tested the Component out from my cable box. Same results. Picture quality was better than the XBox, but if I wiggle the cable at the back of the TV, the picture goes out.

Hey guys. I'm nearly making a decision about getting this TV or a plasma. And I think I just may take a stab at it. I know that there are some people who have problems with flash lighting and the sorts but I have seen this set a good amount of times and I have to say it looks stunning as far as picture quality and aesthetics. And it seems to be coming down a lot in price. The UN46D7000 looks like a winner. But I really have a question on how does this set stack up on motion in fast movies/gaming like that of a plasma like the PN51D7000?

Hi. I just got my UN55D7000 a couple of days ago and I was wondering how people are saving their calibration settings. I read in a thread that if you re-enter the menu, your settings return to factory settings. That seems kind of cumbersome to me since you could lose your settings by a simple mistaken button press. I have re-entered my calibration settings about 5 times since I got the tv. Is there a way to save calibration profiles?

Secondly, the images I get on DVD's are looking squashed in 16x9 ratio, but looks normal on 4:3 ratio. In 4:3 ratio, the picture is smaller. I read that it may be due to my older DVD player. If so, which Blu ray are people buying with respect to owning this television?

Thanks for the help.

I got tomorrow's ads for Best Buy and HHGregg. Both stores have the 46" plus free blu ray player and 2 pairs of 3d glasses for $1499.99. The 55" is 2099.99.

I'm buying a new tv tomorrow.

Just so you guys know.... my TV from one of the first Builds is still going strong, with minor edge bleed.

Also Just because your TV build says feburary, its most likely to have the new h2 or h3 panel, as the TV itself was probibly "refurbed" by samsung on a exchange. Updated with a new panel.

Don't fret with my word refurb either.... its a new TV.... plain and simple

I have my Wii connected through component and no issues for me. I would check with a new cable. Hopefully that would be the only problem.

I'm buying a new tv tomorrow.

If you don't mind Amazon, the 55" is $1699 as of this evening. Last year's pattern showed a reduction in prices for the 2nd from the top of the line models until the middle of the month. The greatest drop was at Super Bowl Sunday. Just in case you didn't mind Amazon.

I went to 3 Best Buy's in the South Florida area this morning looking for a 46" H303 panel. All 3 stores only had the 301. It looks like it could be hard to find the 303 panel.

I like Amazon a lot especially since they dropped the price today plus you don't have to pay any sales tax. However, my only concern with ordering online is if there is a problem with the tv, it's a pain to deal with the return shipping. Also, the chance of getting a H303 panel is probably very low from Amazon. I would probably get a 301 or 302 and have the clouding and back light issues that are being reporting in this thread.

You know, you are probably right about the return thing. I got my tv with the screen shattered, so fortunately, my return was easy. I got an H303 panel (not realizing that there was a difference) from Amazon (not any other vendor). I ordered on November 27th. I can't say what the first (and shattered) tv was, but the one shipped on December 1st was the H303. Good luck.

By the way, can anyone help me on saving calibration settings that I mentioned on the previous page? Thanks.
