I bought my TV three weeks ago, signed up online for the voucher right away and still haven't received anything. In fact, when I check online status, it says "pending validation." I can't wait for the qwerty remote either...

In regard to settings. I haven't made any adjustments. I'm currently using the default settings. I know adjustments can be made to reduce the clouding and bleeding. However, you would think a $2,300 TV wouldn't exhibit such noticeable clouding (all over the screen) and bleeding even with the default settings. My less expensive Vizio did not have these problems. I didn't notice how bad it was until we watched a movie in almost complete darkness. During the day it was not noticeable.

I also have a very little clouding, but that was when the back light was set to 14. I now set the back light to 7 (14 is way too bright for me in my room). Now the clouding is mostly gone.

Set the backlight to 7 and take a picture of the TV with pure black background. We will compare to see how bad it is to justify a return.

is there a big difference in pq from the c8000 and the d7000?

Do you just ask the same questions in different threads? Go look at them in person at a bestbuy or what ever your local retailer is. Most people have already sad the D series is a significant improvement from the C's.

Same here, got my tv on 3/11 and I get the same "pending validation" comment when I check the status. I do not use the web browser much, takes to long to type stuff without the qwerty remote. I don't suppose there is a wireless keyboard that works with this tv is there. Other than the wait for the remote, I am VERY happy with this tv.

What the other poster was saying was its already been said that the d7000 is a better set then the c8000. That's already been posted, the d7000 uses the same dimming the c8000 did, and has better blacks, thus creating a higher contrast ratio.

So let me get this strait. Your annoyed and posting because you filled out a form that says it arrive in up to 8 weeks, but it has only been 3 weeks. I dream of a day when posts make sense. Oh crap, your disease is contagious. I just wasted a post posting about your wasted post. I'm signing up for rehab first thing after work.

Mine came in the box -- dont get your hopes too high waiting for it, it's not that great. When I bought this tv I was thinking I was gonna be surfing the web, YouTube , etc. But the remote is a pain in the ass. Does not work as well as hoped. Navigating a web page is a pain, and for some reason the qwerty keyboard doesn't work on all the apps.

Yes, I was not happy to see you can't type with it in the YouTube search box! ??

This will likely be fixed with an update to the application or firmware...

Does the iPhone app provide a qwerty keyboard?

I was trying to figure out if the iPhone app is the same one from last year, since it only states last years models...

My TV arrives on Friday, so I figured I'd just give it a whirl then.

Its the same app, but you will need to update it to get the keyboard qwerty remote to work.

You guys with the UN55D7000L's - can you post your "Version No" info from your sticker on the box/back of the TV? I'm thinking of swapping my out before my 30 days is up, maybe get one with less corner bleed.

Mine is H302

Granzon,

Do you have a picture (jpg) that you can recommend that can be displayed on the TV that will do a good job in showing the clouding/bleeding? Or a particular scene in a movie that can be paused?

Thanks.

I picked up a UN55D7000 on amazon about 3 weeks ago, Loving this thing so far. Even right out of the box this thing looks great, just need to get tweaking. I will post my settings and some pics once I get it going. Small light bleeding issues in bottom right / left corners, but hardly noticeable even with nothing tweaked yet. Mine came with the qwerty remote, no voucher.

I purchased my new UN46D7000 on Sunday. I have also noticed LED bleeding in the corners. I tried many times to get the QWERTY remote paired with the TV making sure to follow all the proper procedures. I finally got it to work but not sure why ? Perhaps I needed to get real close to the TV

The SMART hub web browser app is nice but there is a learning curve. I can't seem to sign on to any Verizon site to check my email though

Hey smo, what's your "Version No:" from the sticker on the box/back of the TV?

Thanks.

Go to smart hub, and choose browser. Before the browser pop up, you have several seconds of pure black image that you can take picture of to see where the issues are.

Thats what I did.

just got mine.
I was up at Best Buy and saw the D7000 and D8000, and I really couldn't tell them difference so I just got the D7000.

Just got the D7000 a few days ago. I too have clouding/flash lighting and I'm wondering if it will truly dissipate with time as Samsung support suggests. Any truth to this from practical first-hand experience?

Does the 8000 model suffer the same problems?

Thanks!

Samsung support told me to give it two weeks. This coming Friday will be the day.

I haven't noticed any difference thus far.

Okay. I'm planning on taking a picture of my clouding issues here in the next few days. However, I'd like some advice from the photography experts.

What is the best way to take the picture? In other words, what settings on the camera should be used?

Thanks!

Told me the same! Sounds like LCD panel TV's have been experiencing this problem for years. And it can vary from unit to unit. Kinda frustrating. For 3G's it should be perfect.

I agree. While I know calibration can be done to IMPROVE the picture there should be very little but preferably no clouding or bleeding issues even on the default settings. I would prefer none for the price paid for one of their top of the line products. I have not experienced clouding with my less expensive Vizio. Maybe I should move it back to the living room. However, during the day and while the screen doesn't go dark this TV has an excellent picture.
