This TV is just awesome. Want to have it right now
At all owners: Congrats to this fantastic set. Please take some more pics. Can please anybody take some pics from the back, the QWERTY and the stand?
Thx a lot
Im at work right now, but i will take more pics when i get home.
Ok no problem, when i get home i will us my canon camera, before i left for work this morning i snapped a couple more iphone pics of my edge light problem. Is this a problem? Is it normal for this tv? should i exchange it? The picture on avatar last night was breath taking, and in 3d just awesome, is just the very dark sense.I wonder if i go back to best buy for an exchange the next tv does not have that, or do i just have the wrong settings set on th tv?
I take it from reading the multiple threads here you just gotta live with flashlighting on the D6000/7000/8000 sets prob LED's in general? I know the 2010 C series seemed to be really bad w/ people returning set after set hopefully these new models arent as bad.
You are not correct, the D8000 is like a completely different set. The backlit flash lighting is controlled offering much better blacks and contrast. go to the D8000 page and checkout the recent video's posted.
hm, hard to say based on these pics. i suggest look a movie in a dark room. if it disturbs you, you should go for an exchange.
of course settings are important. backlight max. 10, hdmi black level = low
Well, When i get home, I am going to try to watch a movie with some good dark scenes. I will report later tonight and upload more movie pics with some dark scenes, And with a better camera. Thanks felsi!

I dont know while probably different and not as bad, still did read about some flashlighting on it.
I don't know maybe its my eyes playing tricks on me but the "46 had a very noticeable "soap opera" effect when watching a blu ray but the "55 does not. I really haven't played with the settings too much either
Turn your auto motion plus setting to clear

For the life of me I cannot find this info. Its not on the sticker on the box. Nor is there a general setting on the TV that lists TV information as there was last year. I can respond back with a version #.... but thats all i can find. Last Year My panel # was on the sticker on the box.
Alright looking to buy this set in 55" within the next week. I'd love the d8000 but it is out of my price range.
Questions:
[*]can the clear border be removed leaving just the black .2 bezel?[*]is there any voucher for 3d glasses in the box like the d8000 offers?
I don't think u can take the boarder but I didn't try. No voucher for 3D glasses but I did get the free kit with best buy. Some people like me have the qwerty remote while others would get the voucher
Hey twan, you are in the same boat i was in, I really wanted the 8000, but it was 500 more, so i went with 7000, just hope i could figure out the dark light issue im having, i will post some movie pics tonight, ill post some daylight scenes and night scenes so you could check them out.

The bezel is moveable but I don't know if it can be taken off.
My glasses came with the t.v @ best buy cause Samsung is doing that promotion with shrek/megamind
Mine also came with the QWERTY remote
I just ordered the 46D7000! I'm excited. Can someone post some good pictures of the clear bezel? I went to 4 stores today and no one has one on display. I ordered just by what I've seen on the Internet.
Thanks guys - glad to be here!

Quick question guys. I have the show for ps3 but I can't get the 3D setting to turn on in the menu of the games. What am I missing here?
Exit Game. Go to the XMB on your PS3. Then Got to I believe screen resolutions. What will Happen is the ps3 will then scan your TV again, and a popup will come up asking if this TV is a 3Dtv. input yes, and then it will ask screen size. Load game, and a new menu should pop up about either playing or not playing in 3D. I choose No, (don't have the D series glasses yet) But when I went to adjust the sliders (so I can finally get a fu*king hit) I saw the 3D settings, with also a on/off toggle.
Send me a FR if you want. My PSN is the same as my name here.
Great - thanks! Any chance you take a few more? The Samsung logo specifically and also some side shots? Sorry - if you don't have time I understand. Just trying to get a better all around view.
It looks like it has the black metal part directly around the screen and then the clear plastic mold around that - correct?
Also, does the clear plastic have any tint of red in it? I've seen some early specs that indicated that it had a "tint of red". I haven't noticed that from any pictures.

2 birds 1 stone
this how my screen looks like while playing a movie.
as for the tint of red the back of the t.v has a maroonish color panel. the color shows up if you look at it from a certain angle.

Thanks. I'll give it a try when I get home. I hear when some people put the tv in game mode the hitting becomes easier. There might be a slight lag if your coming up late hitting all the time

WOW!! nice pics... looks like you don't have a panel with all the reported problems some are having. (or it just must be people pre judging or other fanboys flaming) I don't see flashing, clouding or color bleeding at all. Backs looks nice also!! .. Looks just as good as the 8000. Hows 3d?
thats because he's got lights blasting with glare from every angle.
he'll be severely disappointed when he watches a movie in the dark for the first time. picture wont look like that at all.
well base on the title shot and intro with the back screen. Those shots were in the dark base on refection of the shot. I could see no corner flashing or clouding problems nor inconsistant blacks.
After looking a bit closer i did notice a bit of color bleeding on the blacks under the bridge...but still impressive...
