I played around with my TV today, Easter Sunday, and I decided to keep it. Like I said, I only have "light" issues with it. It is a beautiful display. I also watched the Lakers lose. I am coming off a Sony XBR 4 which is also a beautiful display but only a 40 inch.*pats self on back*

I just downloaded the Samsung Remote app from the Android market for my HTC Evo and I gotta say that I really like it. It has all the functionality of the standard oem remote. Give it a try if you can. Its really nice.

I use the app as well on my thunderbolt phone since it is taking Samsung forever to send me the qwerty remote... even though all I all my movies by rebate, remote is taking a while.

I meant to say I got all my movies already but still no remote.
I just wish the you tube app could work with they keyboard

I received my replacement 46D7000. It still has some vertical banding but is better than my first.
This panel is H301, February build, firmware 001003.
It has a bit more flashlighting than my first. You can only see this in dark room conditions.

Can you point to the specific test images used in these pics so I can check for banding?

Are you going to keep it or shell out another $500 for the D8000? If I send back my Megamind 3D starter kit, the difference would be about $250. I posted earlier that I was set on keeping, but, the flashlighting and banding issues are becoming more noticeable. For the $2500 people spent on these sets this should be addressed by Samsung as inferior and unflippinacceptable!

For a 55D7000?! I don't think so. Please include a link or I call shenanigans!

When using my DirecTv remote I have to keep pressing the volume button. It doesn't go up or down automatically while holding the button down. Very frustrating. Anyone else have this issue?
They don't list it on their site, but I would be happy to go back there tomorrow and take a pic of the price card with my phone. I was just there on my lunch break today.

The gray levels are from here [I used MP4 (.7z)]:
http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=948496

I have my PC connected via HDMI to the TV. They are actually .mp4 video files that play for 5 minutes to let you adjust setting etc. I downloaded the zipped file. The folder is called: ChromaPure Fields\\5% Grayscale
They have garyscale by steps of 5%. The banding shows more on the lower percentage end. You will see it at 5% for sure if your set has banding.

This is 30% gray if you can't download from above (other helpful test patterns on this site) :

The blue picture is my Panasonic Blu-ray players wallpaper. PS3 original wallpaper will show banding as well , some colors more than others.

I had that same problem with my Comcast remote 3 years ago. I set it up using a code from the section "Samsung TVs" that only went up one step at a time. Then I noticed a section called "Samsung LCD TVs" and the first code listed there worked correctly. Check your remote's list of codes.

I kept my last set for most of a month before returning. I'll give this panel a similar run. I need to see how it behaves with different content. It comes down to how much it bothers me [am I constantly looking for flaws or watching the show?] & how it handles my preferred content and my viewing conditions.

YES, please do - I'll make Best Buy price match! I'm in AZ. There's no way this is for the UN55D7000LF

Mine still looks pretty bad as well. However, I've been so busy my 30 days came and went. Only by a couple of days. I wonder if Best Buy will still take an exchange?

It has such a great picture but it sucks to see the clouding all over the screen.

OK so this is really subjective aesthetic, feel free to ignore and please don't take it personally.

Just saw the 7050 at Costco, and of course the first thing I noticed about the D models is the very attractive thin bezel.

Upon close inspection though... the 7050 see-thru bezel is shaped like a diamond. You don't see this when looking at the TV dead front, but as you move to the side, the triangular shape of the bezel becomes apparent. IMHO, Samsung should had shaped the front of the bezel flat and only angle it on the rear. This gives it a more slick look. As is, it feels "jagged." and make the TV look thicker than it is.

Then where the logo is, why Samsung feels compelled to to put what some people call it a "groin shield" I never know. It's not nearly as pronounced as other Sammy models but it's there. Yes some of you think am OCD to the max, but I just hate it. I want smooth bezel on 4 sides, SLICK. Isn't what it's all about?

And there is what appears to be a locking clip on the bottom right of the bezel. What is this? Why is this thing there?

Lastly, there is still a very thin, black/red? bezel strip between the outer diamond-shaped bezel and the actually display area. OK, am going to assume this is necessary and am not going to fight it, but at least it should be colored a shade of gray. As is, it don't look appropriate.

Yes, am OCD about physical appearance.

Hello all!

Which Picture-Settings do you use?

There is a guy from a german forum who says, that he has a perfect black, but he doesn't post any settings :-(

I'm searching for SD-Settings at first... or is it possible to use HD-Settings for SD-TV?

Thx in advance and greetings from germany!

First of all, your name freaks me out. Second, I use Standard mode with Backlight at 11. Thats where I started out and did some "minor" tweaking after that.

The "iMediaShare" app in the Android market by Bianor can display pictures and video from your Android device to the D7000 over Wifi. I had to set my pictures to be saved to the SD card on my phone for it to work.

The 3D is very good. CNET reviewed the D8000 and said "as far as 3D goes it outperformed all the other sets in [their] lineup". The D7000 does not have the black levels of the D8000. It is my understanding that the 3D performance of both should be very similar. Both also suffer from panel uniformity issues (I am on my second panel because of vertical banding).

I specifically purchased this TV for 3D. I have viewed about 10 3D blu-rays and am very pleased with the quality. There is some minor ghosting here and there, some movies more than others. The picture is very bright for 3D and easy on your eyes.

For gaming, there is some lag. There is a "game mode" (which I use to play Rockband) to help with reducing lag but you cannot use some of the picture settings when it is turned on. I have only tried 2 3D game demos off of the PS network (KO'ed right now...change your passwords when it comes up etc...) so I can't comment too much there, they looked ok [Stardust HD & Motorstorm]. The PS3 has tried to display Rockband in 3D even though it is not a 3D game. I've set the TV from auto 3D to notification to fix this issue.

Awesome, I'm really thinking about getting the un55d7000, luckily I was able to get all my money back from the xvt3d554sv vizio and the pairs of glasses. When I was playing KZ3 on this set there was so much crosstalk I had to lower the 3d depth all the way down in the games options. Sucked cause you lose a lot of the 3D effect and you were still left with minimal crosstalk. As for movies I only have one in 3D- IMAX dinosaurs alive 3D and almost nearly every other 2-3 scenes would have very noticeable crosstalk. I noticed earlier in the thread someone posted how awesome KZ3 was in 3D with the un55d7000 so I'm excited about that. And your input has helped as well. 10 3d movie seen and very pleased? That's what I like to hear haha. Thank you! If anyone else could add more info on the 3D with this d7000 please do so, I'd love to hear your experiences with it. I read this whole thread and notice minimal talk towards the 3D, so I'm guessing no one is having problems with that I guess? Haha :] anyways once again thanks in advance everyone. Hope to be apart of the d7000 family soon!
