I just Downloaded the newest firmware for my tv last night. I think that helped my flashlight affect on my tv, I do not notice it that much, Now does anybody recommend a good dark scene movie i could use to check the tv? I tried taking pictures last night with my wife's canon, but the pictures looked like crap, i will try again tonight with the flash on.

Dark Knight is perfect to check it. especially the imax scenes.

I am hoping to pick this TV up when it shows its pretty face in AU.

I had the 55" C7000, first set had really bad torchlighting, after another 2 repairs i told them to shove it and jumped to the 63" plasma.

After a couple dead pixels (2 sets!), i am sick of plasma now, besides I hate being paranoid over burn in/IR.. Hope to get the 8000 or 7000 with my store credit, trying to work out what is the difference on the hardware level over the c series?

I can't see anything aside the looks and software

Well, I do not have batman, but i do have inception on bluray, so i will try that tonight, see how it looks, im definitely buying Batman on bluray though. hopefully the pics will look good on my camera, and i could post some.

For the love of God, why do people take pictures with the flash? The bright flash reflection messes up the photos and doesn't give a good representation of the light actually coming from the TV. And isn't that the whole point of these pictures?

Droozy - I have had a 55" C7000, you honestly think they have actually fixed up most of the issues with that set? I just can't decide 100% between plasma and LCD :/

Can the media player of D7000 read internal subtitles in the mkv file or does it still need external subtitle file same as previous B, C series ?

Is it possible to change the color of the subtitle other than white color or the location/position of the subtitle area ? Is there a shadow or outline effect around the letters of the subtitle?

The font size could be changed small to big in B or C series but which was actually still not in enough size. Is there any change in this year? Is your photo taken in big size subtitles option ?

Could you please also make some photos of media player main menu and sub/settings menus?

I've been calling Best Buy's all over to see if any had a D7000 on display. Today I found one - finally!

Looks good - nice pics! Any luck with your flashlighting in the corners? I'm assuming you had the brightness cranked up before? Your pictures look great. I actually prefer the look of the 7000 over the 8000 myself. I've seen both now and can compare.

I Did an update last night through the tv, and it seems to be better, i will check it tonight, and i will report tonight. Here is a picture of the internet browser, you could serf the net while watching tv.

Yeah funny pic, I think when I get my keyboard remote it will make the browsing experience better.

I've heard the Qwerty remote is in the box? Maybe yours was an early one and had the voucher. I expect to receive mine next week. I'll let you know if mine comes in the box.
