As to picture quality and related issues, I made peace too with this set, using Droozy's standard settings mostly. PQ is good, no noticeable clouding or flashlighting issues, bought from BB. Samsung has no excuse for sure, but I'm guessing AVSForum readers (and their increased knowledge and ability to spot, as well as troubleshoot issues) are a minority of the Samsung buying public. I'm guessing "regular" purchasers are on average quite pleased with the set.

PS After reading every page of this thread twice, I'm still open to suggestions on lip sync issue.

Turn your receiver off and just use the TV's sound. Then you can narrow it down as to what is giving you the problem. If I was a betting man, I would say the receiver is your problem.

I had lip sync issue with my Sharp 52LE830 using my WDTV Live Hub. Maybe it's the receiver... i don't know. But i will try the Samsung one before buying, i use my WDTV a lot, i don't really watch tv or game on PS3... so i don't want to get stuch with lip sync problems also.

Just got mine out of the box. Not a good picture at all. Very disappointed. Taking back to HHGregg tomorrow.

I have a tech coming to my house next Tuesday. I explained to him over the phone what was happening. I told him my picture would sometimes lag and stutter like it was dropping frames when in every mode except "Game Mode". He told me he was ordering me a new board since he is 99% sure that is my problem. I also told him I was having flash lighting and clouding in all 4 corners and at the bottom and top of my display when the back light is set to 8 and above. He said he will look at that when he comes here. My question is, will he tell me to turn my back light down below 8 which I think is uncalled for since 8 is not high at all. Or will they replace my TV for me if the flash lighting/clouding is significant. I hope he doesn't blow me off and tell me to dim the back light and brightness.

Yes. Thanks. Receiver is the problem. At least we narrowed it down. Now the question is, is there a newer Denon receiver that works with the UNXXD7000 without causing lip sync issues? Was eying the Denon AVR 2312ic, a mid-range.

Thanks Obscene Jester.

One more question (did a search). Is there anything I can do about the blur when watching sports? Auto Motion and LED Motion both off. Didn't notice this on my first D7000. But it's there on baseball and golf telecasts. I know LED, even at 240 mhz probably has this issue, but it doesn't sound like this is widespread.

Thanks in advance.

When it comes to the receiver, I am just getting into home audio so I wouldn't be the best person to ask. I think most new receivers come with a audio delay feature so you can sync it with your TV. I don't know what tge features called on the spec sheet though.

In regards to the blur when watching sports, I would set up either the standard or movie picture for your sports viewing pleasures. Make sure you enable auto motion plus and use it in the "smooth" option. Sports is the only thing auto motion plus is good at. Or you can try using my Game Mode settings to see if that helps. I have noticed a much more smoother picture in game mode. I have not been getting any blur when I watch football.

So is this TV worth buying ? My choice the Samsung 55D7000 or the 240hz 52LE835U from Sharp.

Just want the best fluid picture, i hate blur or ghosting.. i can live with clouding.

I haven't had this set long (2 1/2 days), but I haven't seen any blur or ghosting. So far I've watched Netflix through the Xbox, Dylan Dog (blu-ray), and played Red Dead Redemption, Deus Ex, and Limbo. They all look amazing. Dylan Dog was a little grainy, but that was the quality of the movie, not the TV.

When there are bright images typically red/orange/pink, they sometimes appear to bounce or flicker on the screen. None of the settings are helping.

Does anyone know what this is? Should I return the TV.

Thanks!
I have the 46d7000 from BB

I thought you have the UN46D6900.

I have a 46D7000 that I bought about a month ago, and I am thoroughly confused. People keep mentioning "Game Mode" as a viable mode to put your TV in for playing Xbox/PS3, whatever....but my firmware menus do not give me any access to a "Game Mode."

When I go to Menu -> Picture Options ->

I get "Dynamic," "Standard," "Natural," and "Movie,".....but some folks have said that there's also a "Game Mode," but not on my box....so where is it?

Do you need to have a console connected via HDMI or something to make the TV recognize that you have a console? That doesn't seem logical.....and I've gone to every sub menu on the TV I can find....so what gives?

I've noticed that if you try playing Halo: Reach on this TV, the frame rates are weird, and if you are playing a game type where you die if you're shot once, this TV is a huge liability......can anyone help me? Please?

Thanks

The game mode is in the "General" settings.

Checkout the manual at
http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/co...0323082337571/[ENG_US]GPATSCA-1018.pdf

Here is the set of info:
---------------------
Game Mode (Off / On): When you have connected a game console such as
a PlayStation or Xbox to the TV, you can enjoy a more realistic gaming
experience if you set Game Mode on.
N Precautions and limitations for Game Mode:
- Before disconnecting a game console and connecting another external
device, set Game Mode to Off in the System menu.
- If you display the TV menu in Game Mode, the screen shakes slightly.
N Game Mode is not available when the input source is set to TV or PC.
N Set Game Mode to On only after connecting a game console. If you turn
Game Mode on before you have attached the game console, you may
notice reduced picture quality.
N If Game Mode is On:
- Picture Mode is set to Standard and Sound Mode is set to Movie.

Anyone here is playing BFBC2 or similar FPS games from PC on D7000? Is input lag terrible or FPS is playable on this TV?

Have you tried the SPDIF Output settings? Have you tried to change the format or audio delay?

I will interested to know this as well. It will be awesome to play BFBC2 (and soon BF3) on this TV from PC. It does look like folks didnt have much issue with FPS when using game mode.. but I have never tried it.

Ok, so I have been scouring the internet for calibration settings to try, and this is what I have found so far. Try them out, tweak them, and post your results. If I find more, I will post them.

1. http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?s...type=1&theater

2. (at the bottom) http://www.avforums.com/forums/14514169-post67.html

3. (this is a forum just for calibration of D7000 & D8000) http://www.avforums.com/forums/lcd-l...on-thread.html

I hope this will be helpful.

Awesome. Let me try these on my set. One thing that was annoying with my setting was that, while bluray etc looked great, I had lots of problems in shadow area (lots of square pixelation type of stuff which was not visible on my plasma in bedroom using the same source ). It seemed to be due to the contrast level (which was too high).
I will play with these and post .

All,

I just got this tv and am quite happy with it. However, if I watch sportscenter the bottom ticker appears to jerk up and down every couple of seconds. It also happens on other channels where there is something static (like a ticker). Is this happening to anyone else? Is this my cable feed or my HDMI cable? It doesn't appear to happen when i'm on any of the menus.

Thanks!
Rob

Can someone try my Game Mode settings and let me know if the picture looks more natural than the other modes. Supposedly, it's impossible to disable Noise reduction in any other mode, even though you set it to OFF. Game Mode is the only true mode that turns the extra image processing stuff off and only shows what it's getting from the source.

The one thing I noticed while using your settings is that blacks can sometimes look purple. I mostly notice it in shadows. Other than that, it looks great.

I'd like to use it, but the Samsung site says it's not compatible. I guess I just find this hard to believe, since the mount is compatible with the 65" and the large plasmas.

If not, any other good mount suggestions for the UN60D7000?

Do you need tilting or do you want a low profile?
So after checking a bunch of reviews off the net, i'm really into this TV. (55d7000)

I just bought a Plasma and i'm not satisfied with it, way too much reflections and bunch of other problems...

So is this TV worth buying ? Here in Canada, the cheapest i've seen is 2998.00$ so YEAH she's an expansive beast, but i bought my Plasma at The Brick and i'm stuck picking a new model there, the selection is not the best, they got only two 240hz, the Samsung and the Sharp le830.

So is this TV full of problems ? Or worth buying?
A little tilt would be nice. It will be above our fireplace a little on the high side so some downward tilt would probably be helpful to the viewer.

My perception is this slim mount could get a slight tilt. True? Alternatives?

In a perfect world I'd also like a mount from which the TV could be easily removed if I want to use it in another location for some reason (football party).

So after 2 weeks with the UN55D7000
