New to the forum and new to the projector world.
Plunged in and bought an Optoma GT720 on ebay new in October. Wow is has been life changing until about 3 weeks ago after a few hours the color starts to flicker and then goes to black and white, and then some color flashing in and out with an audible grind or mechanical issue of some sort.
Thought maybe it was an overheating issue, used a small fan in multiple directions..sometime it would clear and sometime not. Now it seems to go to this flickering and then black and white and then flickering after 5 minutes or so.
Opened a ticket with Optoma and they sent me a RMA form. I am not sure they will honor the warranty since I bought this on ebay. Was wondering if this symptom has something to do with the color wheel or overheating or design flaw?
Any help would be appreciated at least to know what to expect in case I have to pay for the repair myself. The bulb has 1600 hours on it now
