Purchased the PN64D8000 (manufactured March 2012) about 2 weeks ago from an online retailer. It was delivered last Saturday. The delivery guys let me inspect the screen for damage then they left.
After I got it on the stand, I turned it on and all I got was a clicking noise, the red light blinking a couple times, and a slight screen flicker. This would repeat itself until I unplugged it.
I called 1800 Samsung, and after some basic troubleshooting, they put in a service call. I also called the vendor and they said I had to work through Samsung. A technician called me Monday and said he would order parts.
Today, around 9:30, the techincian came and he replaced two boards (the main board and the power board, I think). The TV then worked fine while he set up a few things. Around 3:30 I watched the TV for an hour or so (great picture, no buzzing, very pleased).
Then, around 6:30 I went to turn on the TV, and I noticed it was doing the same clicking noise, flickering ,and red light blinking. I called Samsung again, and the best they could do was to send another technician out, which will probably take a week. They said I could only get a replacement TV if the technician requested it.
Should I be working with the vendor to return this TV? (this is what the wife tells me to do)
Should I demand a replacement TV from Samsung?
What do you think might be the problem? And if it gets fixed again, will I likely have the same problem down the road?
Thanks for reading and any advice you might have for me.
