Like you, 6 months ago, I hackes my PS51D550 and tried to copy various settings, my PQ was always un satisfactory.
For example, with warm2 settings, my white were clearly too yellow.
Now I have a meter and my results are completely differents for others here, each panel is really different.

You can see on my panel, there was too much blue in my white balance, with this settings, my white is nearly perfect, using warm2 to have the correct temp

So without a meter, IMHO the D7000 hack is useless.
But without it, you can achieve a good results by eye, using a 10 steps pattern from black to white for example.
You can use the wonderfull AVS709 HD for that, brightness and contrast settings
