Has anybody found a streak free cleaning solution for these screens, it was perfect until the kid wiped her hand across it and now after cleaning with this highly reviewed product the screen is just covered with streak marks and it's worse than the single hand print.

Quick update on the buzzing situation, it seems that when sitting/viewing the tv lined up perfectly in the middle at about 10 feet back 54inch eye level the buzzing is noticable at any volume level but when I sit about 15 inchs lower or about 10 inchs above eye level the buzzing disappears. The buzzing also disappears when I adjust it about 10-15degrees on the swivel stand. Does anyone know if wall mounting this puppy would help with the buzzing? I'm really loving this tv and its not peeling and I do believe a software update will fix the brightness highs/lows so I'd rather keep the tv and not have to worry about exchanging it for a possible peeler/worse buzzing/dead pixel/etc etc edition.

Your observations are old news. Yes, mounting the TV so you are out of the very narrow sound cone will solve your particular problem.

Is there way to disable ABL??

"According to a review in May of this year on the Samsung site, Samsung will be releasing a firmware update to allow their plasma sets to disable the ABL (auto brightness limiter). I do not want to spread rumors if untrue so please understand that I'm only saying what I have read on the Samsung site:

"Samsung says it force enabled ABL in order to meet the new 'green technology' specs ( it takes more power to keep the screen bright with all white on the screen ). Thats fine, but allow the buyer to make the choice, not the manufacturer.
I've been told that that a future firmware will allow ABL to be disabled. IF that happens, i will edit my review."

This was a review of the 7000 series plasma. It seems kind of hard to believe but I really hope it's true. I just bought my first plasma myself and the only thing that almost kept me from purchasing a plasma was the annoying ABL. Hopefully there is some truth to this. Even in the stores I could clearly see the ABL circuit at work and it certainly didn't help to win me over to plasma. Now that I've got a D7000 on the way hopefully I'll be able to disable or at least adjust this "feature" to minimize it's effects.

Can anybody confirm or deny that Samsung plans to allow us to disable or adjust the ABL?"

I'm very close to ordering the 64d7000 myself and would be interested in hearing more about ABL myself. Buying a TV shouldn't be this involved. Heh

Buy the tv. I have a 59d7000 and its awesome!! Never once in 3 months did I see any brightness flux or any other issue and I was looking hard for them before my 30 days were up. Awesome apps and 3D is really cool. Don't see any other tv I would buy over this.

Ive been using Brillianize for years on my acrylic aquariums and glass. its anti static cleaner and polish for plastics and shining surfaces , spray just a little and use a microfiber cloth to buff... no streaks and resists finger prints! it works great on tv screens too.

It's a crying shame that you can't adjust screen aspect ratio in the built-in media player. I have various video clips and some for whatever reason do not play in the proper aspect ratio by default, and need to be set in the player to play correctly. Every media player on my PC - VLC, MPC, Gom Player, KM Player, you name it - all allow a simple selection of aspect ratios - 4:3/5:4/16:9/16:10, etc.

It's too bad Samsung won't offer a firmware update to allow us to change aspect ratio. Some of my files are just unwatchable for this reason. I also have several side-by-side 3D clips that also suffer from this issue - for whatever reason they were encoded at the wrong aspect ratio, so when the tv switches to 3D mode, it is in the wrong aspect ratio - a simple aspect ratio selection menu would solve all of that. Samsung really should have included that as a basic media player function.

After spending entirely too much time researching a TV I just placed my order for the 64D7000 with Paul's through Amazon.

Great choice! Enjoy your new set with the peace of mind that it is one of tge best out there.

I think I am going to return my 59D7000 as it has an annoying "defect". The screen saver comes on when viewing directv content. This happens even when I turn the screen saver off completely.

So, has anyone returned something of this size? Will the shipping company come
And repack it (they unpacked it). I still have the box.

Also, I am very close to the 30 days. Do I just need to request the return within 30 days or actually ship within 30 days.

Thanks

PS. I will get a 64d7000 next.

I know with amazon you just repack it, and the day they deliver the next one, they take the bad one.

Guys after a month, I got nasty I.r last night playing madden 12. The score ticker on the top left can be seen in white images. I ran a lot of the scroll bar and its still there. I also did not leave the game paused at all.

Any ideas as to how to get rid of it or what to do

How can you see the total lifetime hours on this set?
There is a how to check your hours thread at HDJ that Bruzzi has, you can get to it with those instructions. It will reset your pic settings though.

Anyone have trouble connecting the sammy 7000 to Comcast wi-fi internet? A customer of mine tried to connect to it himself and couldn't get it to work. I'm going back to connect it for him but I'd like to know some info on the connection first.

The reason I didn't connect it for him right away when I did his setup was because he didn't have the wifi adapter. He thought the tv had wifi built in but the manual tells you that you have to purchase it seperately.

First, just give it some time, it also helps to watch a lot of animation. Just make sure no logos are visible by adjusting the screen size. Make sure the cartoons are in HD.

Anyway...I still have the 2nd set in the house and the half dime sized peel has not grown...Pauls has me scheduled for a replacement but I hope the next one is not a worse peeler..or buzzer or another doa.

Does anyome have this display connected to a Tivo S3? it seemes everytime I power up the TV the Tivo changes its settings from 1080I to 720P...I need to manually re-set it everyday. and I do not have any access to any of comcasts 3d channels...another Tivo issue I think

I ended up swapping this one out for another set, The peeling started in another area and was growing daily, plus that set also had 5-6 dead/blinking pixels. The new set is up and running and looks fantastic...I really hope it does not start to peel...
I can not tell if it has the gasket fix to it or not..I never checked the build date and its already up on the wall. anyway...I will report any issues but so far so good.

I am freeking out man. This happened Saturday night when playing madden without pausing it or leaving the game on a still image.

The next day I went to turn the tv on to watch sons of anarchy and on a scene where there was a white wall you can clearly see the EA Sports score ticker on the top left.

It showed the socre and time left. I ran the burn screen remover for half hour to an hour and watch only full screen hd sources with no static images

It is still there today.

I am highly upset right now

Alright... second 64d7000 set arrives tomorrow finally... took almost two weeks to get the replacement, fingers crossed this one shows up in one piece and not completely shattered or with peeling etc... issues.

Hello everyone,

Love my new PN51D7000. Build date July 2011.

Has anyone seen the brightness of the TV image fluctuate? It goes brighter or darker with no apparent reason. I have seen this happen several times watching a DVD movie.

Is this typical or should I return it before my 30 days are up?

Thanks for your response,
Gabe

Also, where do you have your settings? It should be Movie, with contrast set no higher than 60 and brightness around that number too.

I play games on Dynamic, but again, the contrast and brightness are turned down. Cell Light is at 15 for both settings. Keep doing the anti-IR and the cartoons. It should go away.
Does the ir vary on different sets because i have a 64 its on movie contrast on 96 and cell light on 20 when i play games and i have never gotten ir yet.
