I have the 59d6500 which is the same as the d7000 besides the filter...

Does anyone know what type of wifi network card is in the tv? Is it a N? I was running a D-Link DGL-4500 router and when streaming 1080p videos with the wifi, there are way too many buffering going on. Running 720P videos would have minimal to no buffering. So I decided to pick up a new router and got a Linksys E4200 dual band. Getting the same buffering issues for 1080p.

Any help would be appreciated. When I run a cat5 cable, it's perfect, but i'd rather see if I can run it off wifi.

Thanks

It is N capable. My router is set to N band only and my 7000 picks it up fine. I have never had a problem when streaming videos over my network via WiFi to my TV. Try disabling any security on your router and make sure it is set to N only. See if that works. If it does, then you know the problem lies within the router and not the TV.

Within the last few weeks my PN51D7000 has developed a problem streaming Netflix. At least once each night the sound disappears. If I pause, rewind, and play, the streaming content resumes with audio.

I've checked router and modem logs, but see nothing unusual. Speedtests are consistently above 21 MBs. TV is alone on higher of dual bands, and has QOS set as well.

Any suggestions?

But, the firmware is nowhere to be found. I asked the support person if there was some confusion with the 1019 available for some BD players. He told me:

"I am sorry for the inconvenience. I'll inform this issue to our technical team so that they will send you the firmware version 1019.0 to you. It will take two business day's."

I have run into this watching dvd's/bluray. Every once in a great while if I pause the disk there is no sound when I start it back up. I have to stop the disk and restart it for the sound to come back. I thought it was a player problem but maybe it is the TV.

So, I got this set last Friday, and finally got it up and on my stand today. Needless to say, after [unprofessional] calibration, this picture has been everything that I wanted, with one caveat.

I have a buzzer. And I don't know what it means to have one that buzzes versus one that doesn't, but after breaking this set in for over 72 hours with slides already and mounting it onto my stand with bracket mounts, I'm not inclined for playing the "return" game, especially since my mom tossed out the packaging lol.

I just wanted to know what "buzzers" did to help themselves out from this issue. Are there any sort of magnets or anything that can help silence this? Might it "go away" later? lol

Really damn annoying because the TV looks great, no peel, no buzz, and runs real cool

Am I missing something here?

Larry M, not sure if anyone responded, but that is your pixel shift settings, it moves the picture around so when it shifts you will find these up to 4px ( if that's what you have it set to) on one or two of the sides. Play with the settings if it bothers you but I'd just leave it on. 4px has been optimal if you watch any cable/sports or anything with logos. I watch tons of sports and have had 0 retention. Have even checked it in pitch black with slides after 4-6 hrs of sports.

I'm getting a lot of ghosting in fast paced 3D video games. What settings can I adjust to minimize ghosting? Does game mode help?

Quick question - does the 51D7000 ship with the pedestal stand installed, or do you have to assemble it separately? Makes a difference in how much help I want to have lined up when it arrives. I downloaded the on-line manual and for some reason that version skips all hardware and installation instructions. Thanks.

My 64D7000 came with the pedestal stand not attached. I assume the same goes for the 51.

I noticed brightness pops when watching movies via usb. Is this an issue only on that source?

Anything I can do?

Thx

Over at hdj, it's been discussed that as contrast is lowered, their frequency diminishes.

Just got a y504 September model from Amazon on Wednesday. Just got done watching the Flyers game and it popped liked crazy. Everyone in the room saw it after I mentioned something. Even with contrast at 50, I can still see the pops during the hockey game.

Oh yea the tv buzzes like no other either. - right at viewing level, directional buzzing. So dont expect the September builds to be the magic fix everyone hoped for.

Such a shame the picture on the tv is incredible. I took a break from running break-in slides, but I'm not going to waste the electricity anymore. I have to send it back. I honestly dont know how anyone could keep the tv with the buzzing and the pops. I'm completely torn on even trying to get another 7000 model.

EDIT: Well I might have to eat my words... put on Inception (snow scene) and I barely noticed any issues with contrast at 95 (stock movie mode).

Dude, I'm right there with you. I have no regrets with my TV purchase, but this buzz and brightness pop thing is killing me! Both of these things really, really exist. I wish there was some way to get rid of these! Hopefully Samsung will release firmware to address the brightness pops, but I still have no idea how to do anything about the buzzing! Maybe I'll ask my doctor to destroy my hearing so that I can't perceive high frequencies lol. But seriously, if there is any sort of magnetism effect I can use to fix this, or if getting a high-end surge protector will help, I'm more than willing to find that fix!

Everything else about the TV is awesome! I wish I wasn't so afraid about burn-in or IR though lol, since so far I've been running slides over 120 hours, and I've only been watching 16x9 movies. So far no hours logged into 2.35 : 1 content or video games (only really short periods).

Got a version Y504 August build from Best Buy two weeks ago and have watched many Capital games on it with not a single brightness pop. I don't know if me having my Contrast on 85 has anything to do with it but I don't like the contrast any higher. The only time I can hear any buzzing is when I stand up and look directly at the center from about 3-5 feet away. However, I sit about 11 feet back and never stand to watch TV.

I didn't bother with the nonsense break in slides either. I just watch what I want and if **** happens, that's why I paid for a 3 year warranty that covers everything from image burn, to the TV falling off the wall. I really could care less if the TV blows up tomorow. Best Buy will be bringing me a new one the very next day I'm done waiting weeks on Samsung to send a tech to my house.
Buzzing - It absolutely is a directional issue that just beams right out of the tv. As soon as your ear is under, above, or aside of the set, the buzzing disappears and you just hear the normal Plasma hum, buzz that they all do. Even putting a pillow between the TV and my ear will cut the buzz... that's how directional it is.

I also do not have a power condition in my house, I personally never saw the benefit, but if anyone has had any luck I would be willing to purchase to clear the buzzing. It has to be some kind of electricity/transistor problem... I cannot imagine something rattling making such a direction noise like that.

Brightness pops - So I put on Inception thru my mediacenter and left it at factory movie mode, and I have to say, the pops for the movie were almost non-existent. That I wanted to state.

Flyers hockey game, the TV went crazy... as soon as I pointed it out, two of the other people watching with me immediately saw it. Even just panning over the white ice would cause the pop, which was literally like a camera flash. Quick and bright. I will have to wait and watch another hockey game this weekend. I know the cameras at in Philly arena are really brightly lit compared to other arenas. I'll try an report back later this week.

I'm completely torn on returning the set. I was very happy when Inception didn't show the problems. The picture of this set is really amazing.

But honestly how this makes it thru the Samsung factory after many revisions and it still occurs?

I really don't watch hockey that much, but are you sure the brightness pops weren't just that, camera flashes?
There must be people photographing the game, and I can imagine camera flashes being somewhat amplified with the hockey rink being reflective and all.

Been debating on a Panasonic GT-30 vs. the D7000 for awhile now, but the brightness pops have me worried. Panasonic has a fix for their fluctuating brightness issue, but Samsung does not. I have a c450 Samsung plasma now, and the brightness pops are annoying during night time viewing. Contrast does not change the frequency of them.

Can anyone else confirm that the pops are non-existant on Movie mode in nighttime viewing? Or at [b]Contrast at/under "85" at night viewing?.

I like the daytime filter and brightness of the Samsung for day viewing, but worried the night time annoyances will damper the benefits vs. the GT-30.

First post for me here. But i want to tell that i have a 59d7000 that was a BUZZER loud buzz like a beem in front of the tv. And also buzzing from all pos in the living room.
But like some one wrote before it almost gone now. I can still hear it but only on very low volyme. So there is hope. The tv is 3 month old.

I have ordered a 51D7000 and while waiting on delivery I have a question regarding the lack of an Amazon app - has anyone been successful steaming Amazon (or any other apps) from their PC via the wireless option.

I have been watching my 59"7000 for two weeks now and have not seen a single brightness pop. I watch a lot of hockey too which I've heard the people who do have brightness pops see it on. I played around with a bunch of contrast settings ranging from 75 to 95 and have found I like 80-85 the best. Mine is sitting at 85 day and night and I have yet to see any fluctuations in brightness. I purchased my TV from Best Buy and they have a 30 day return policy. If I would have seen the brightness pops, I would have returned the TV. Its that simple. Im not just saying all of this to defend my purchase. I have no reason to do that being I am not obligated to keep the TV.

I seriously have never seen a picture look so damn good in my entire life. Just try to buy the TV from a local B&M that has a good return policy. That way, if you dont like it, you dont have to play the return game with shipping the TV's back and forth.

Perhaps, I but I rather save $900 as I did buying a 64D8000 from an authorized online retailer who has a 30 day Return Policy (and no shipping charge) versus from Best Buy and more convenience, but to each his own.

A lot of what is seen on Hockey is not the same thing. With that bright of a white screen, you can see some ABL kick in IMO.

After having 2 installers come in and say they wouldn't insure or assure that hanging this thing (pn64d7000) on a steel stud wall would be without any issues, I've given up on it ( they meant specifically the way the walls are in my apt complex are, not steel studded walls in general ). Has anyone found a good riser setup that would fit a larger center channel speaker under it? ( polk audio cs1 I believe it's around 7" tall so would need at least 7.5 clearance).

Since it's an apt I really didn't want them installing plywood etc in the wall, losing our deposit etc.
