I just left it on the whole time; did it in Standard mode with the controls turned down. I'd guess I'm around 200-250 hours. Just watching regular TV/BD's after the first 100, or so.
I did get the DISH Network 722k Duo DVR receiver. HD channels look great. SD picture quality through HDMI is okay. I'd rate SD picture quality (upconverted through my receiver to 1080P) a 7 out of 10. Any issue I've had has been due to the recievier or the channel. HBO audio is not as good as Cinemax, for example (causes the AVR to click some). I have "Gray Bar" set up on 4:3 pictures.
I have not seen any brightness pops; really been looking for them (don't watch hockey, though)
I have not seen and of the fluctuating blacks; really been looking for those, too.
There is a very slight, hardly audible buzz that can be heard (with all other appliances off) from 12 inches away. I measured. With audio on a low level, can't hear buzz at all.
I have had zero IR; absolutely zero. Even left the "Track __" on while playing music on the PS3 for a couple of hours, didn't have an issue.
I have not had any blurring or shadowing.
The 1080/24 content looks good to me. No one else has noticed anything bad, either.
I like my display brighter and more vibrant than most of the setting in the calibrations thread. I haven't got the colors exacly right, yet, but I'm close to where I want them.
I have Pixel Shift on 2-2 every two minutes, just FYI.
I am very happy thus far. Do think a 60 inch would have been better, size-wise, but the options were get this at 51" or go down to a Pannasonic ST in the 60. I opted for the D7000 due to the reported PQ. It wasn't a wrong decision. (Plus, got the BD and two pairs of 3D glasses, free!!!!) I went for PQ and features over size.
The back of the unit gets warm, not hot by any means. Warmest part is on top at the vents, can comfortably leave my hand on the top after several hours of operation.
I have an October 2011 build.
The stand is a little flimsy. I'd prefer it was moe solid. Rotating feature is nice.
I have watched a lot of different BD's; TRON, Independence Day, Robin Hood, Megamind, The Dark Knight. All looked great!
Any questions, I'd be happy to answer.
