I'll post it here, but spoiler it for size.

Yes! Guns of Navarone remaster is in process! This is one film that binds my father and me, as when i was a kid we used to watch it each time it came on tv. I just hope it's completed and released before it's too late for us to revisit it together (he's 78 this year).

Didn't mind this film. The pq and aq was good too. Actually the aq was better on this movie than Platoon which wasn't that crash hot.

Be sure to watch Taxi Driver again after you have time to reflect on it. It's one of those films that gets better for me every time I see it. It is so smart and subtle it's easy to overlook some nuggets on a first viewing or even a second or third.

Yes definitely. It's great seeing an amazing cast in this film. With Jodie Foster, Harvey keitel and Peter Boyle. Not to forget Robert De Niro who did an amazing job.

It wasn't until a few years ago that I truly understood to "power" of bluray when it comes to older releases. The resolution of film is something like 4120p or thereabouts....much more resolute than our eyes can discern...so when you have en excellent, clean transfer, bluray can bring older films to life like never before. I used to think it was some sort of artificial conversion process, like colorization or something, but when I learned this about film it really got me excited. It's amazing seeing films from 40, 50, 60+ years ago just looking detailed and pristine on bluray. It often feels like a time machine that I'm in for two hours, you know?

Anyway....I digress

Thanks to your recent posts to this thread, I decided to watch my Taxi Driver BD again tonight and was glad I did. It couldn't have looked better even by modern standards and its audio was outstanding, too. Bernard Herrmann's haunting original score is still playing in my head. Travis Bickle is a gift that keeps on giving.

Travis' quintessential weirdness and volatility made me feel as if I were sitting on a time bomb. The scene in the campaign office in which Betsy made Travis wildly angry by definitively blowing him off made my skin crawl.

Looks like that movie has a lot of great reviews, too....thanks, I'll add it to my queue.

Looking forward to hearing your feedback on Battle:LA in the other thread!

Yeah going by some feedback, I was getting a bit worried that it isn't good. I'm hoping that it is.
