@Sentrex. Thanks for posting this. Do you happen to have a config for standard mode?

Best Buy had the 60 inch on sale for $1999 in store.

I bought the tv (LC60LE835u) a couple of weeks ago and prefer this over my 55" Samsung D8000 LED. The picture quality, in my opinion, is better than the Sammy at $1k less. I heard that Samsung buys their panels from Sharp.

The one issue I am having is integration with my Control4 system. The sharp website says it can work with the more popular home automation systems, like Control4. Has anyone successfully integrated with Control4? I have the TV plugged in via ethernet and it looks like the only driver is a network driver. When using the network driver the tv keeps returning a "true/false" on the Control4 integration tool. I replaced the network cable going to the tv as well. Any ideas?

So my 810 died 2 weeks ago 1 long 1 short power light error which I believe is back light problem. Sharp authorized a RMA return through bestbuy.

So pondering if I should get me a new Sharp 835U or the Sony HX729.
From what I've been reading, the 835's get decent reviews but seems as if Sharp hasn't solved their back light issue.

So I kept my TV. Sharp fixed all the issues I had with the screen (clouding, yadda yadda). Enabling that Energy saving crap fixed it. I never came back to post due to me finally enjoying the set.

The TV updated yesterday though to like 300xxxxxxxxx firmware. Anyone know what this did?

Did you enable standard or advanced? And are you using opc? Can you post all settings you are using?

I wall mounted the 835U last weekend and it came out very nice. Using a low-height mount, the total distance wall to front of TV is 1.75". Looks nice and to be honest I haven't noticed the clouding at all and haven't done much to correct it either. I did turn off that "soap opera" effect and that's about it. Just my input, enjoy!

Thanks for sharing your settings !!!

I have a (US) 40LE830U. Is the 10 point setting present as standard on the 835? this is not present on the 830 advanced menu. If it is something that needs access via a service menu, can you reply with how to access the service settings? thanks again.
Is this exactly the 830, but with 3D? I almost decided to buy this set and then saw CNET say the 830 was perhaps the worst of all led sets they reviewed. In the store the sharps looked great to me personally.

Hi guys, I know that is Sharp thread but I can't choose between SHARP 55LE835U and Samsung UN55D6500.

Please help and also the question. Is it big difference between 55LE835U and 55LE832U except 3D?

Thank you!
I don't think sharp has a 55 one do they? All I saw was 52 and 60 and then upwards of 60. I'm assuming you mean the 52 though, unless I somehow overlooked a 55.

Both are great sets when perfect. I also wasnt sure which to get. i decided on the sharp 835U after looking at it in store and reading many people complain about the clouding on the new samsungs D series. The extremely small bezel on the sammy made it look amazing but for the best bang for buck i decided to get the cheaper bigger Tv with less people returning b/c of clouding issues.

So far my 835U has been PERFECT. the picture is sharp and the 5 extra inches makes a huge difference. Mine is wall mounted ill upload some pics tonight. Tv is very thin..NOT Samsung thin but thin still..Clouding i only notice when switching inputs. And its not thats bad.I watched Tron legacy and noticed nothing (i got lucky so far)

the 3D is well the MEEH 3D. its cool for a couple minutes but im not wow'd..I wasnt expecting to be. the few 3D sources ive watched were OK. My Boxee box and xbox360 both show no lag and colors are impressive.

To me the MUCH cheaper price and bigger size were enough to sway me into the sharp and i regret nothing. When the guys came over last night to watch Sunday Football everyone was WOW'd. 60inches is huge when wall mounted IMO.

Hi guys,

I just bought the 60 inch 835U two days ago, but I'm considering returning it.

Can someone elaborate on the "clouding" that everyone is referring to? I'm assuming I have it because it looks like there's a cloud of smoke on the screen and it feels like I'm hurting my eyes by looking at it.

I was watching the Dolphins/Patriots game tonight and noticed an awful amount of blur during movement. Would this happen with a plasma, since they're running at 600hz?

I've only had it for 2 days so I exchange it. I was thinking of the Samsung UN55D8000 series, but if people are saying it has clouding too then I'd rather get something else.

Any info would help. Thanks guys.

I was watching the same game on my 60" 835U and didnt see any of these issues you mention. My source was directv. Not sure if this makes a difference.

have you adjusted any of the settings? Did you change the Hrtz to 120? I watched the same game and didnt notice anything weird. Hard to tell if its the TV or source from only 1 game. The clouding issue you i beleive you only see on very dark scenes or when the TV is all black. you shouldnt notice anything while watching bright scenes. Maybe your seeing something else or IMO its time to change some of the color settings.

Little more detail should help if this is a keeper or not. IMO your better off witht he sharp then samsung D series.

Just curious why you say this? I'm currently looking at this TV and the D series among others.

Yeah I adjusted the settings a bunch to try and get the best picture. I have Comcast and the game was in HD, but it looked pretty bad.

It just looks like there's a "haze" over the screen. Maybe I got a defective set.

Are there any LED's that don't have clouding?

The sharp and the samsung D series are great LED Tvs. Both were my last choices. I only went with the sharp because it was way cheaper and i saw less comments about clouding. on this forum and Amazon and Bestbuy.

The looks of the samsung are unmatched. but the bang for buck are unmatched on the Sharp.

From what ive read The thinner they make these LED sets the more clouding issues are potenially going to be seen.

IMO opinion you have a defective set. If possible exchange for a differnt set. if you still have issues then go with the samsung and cross your fingers.

Having an issue with my 60" 835 since Monday. Turn on the set and it says it needs to update the software. I select yes to update and then it says it is already up to date. Then I watch tv as nornal. Next time I turn on the tv, same issue saying needs to update and already updated. I went to setup netflix on the tv (been using PS3 for netflix) and the tv says needs to update to use netflix. Go to update and it says already updated. I've had the set since soon after it came out and this is the first time it has done this.

Anyone else having the same problem? Any fix?

Glad I'm not the only one. Yeah, it just happened to me yesterday. I'm going to call Sharp on my break to see whats going on.

Happened to me as well. Please post what you find when you call Sharp.

Same problem. Starting happening on Tuesday. Says update is needed, go to update and it says no update is needed. In my situation the tv was NOT updated like it said it was. I downloaded the firmware (most current) from the sharp website. Put it on a thumbdrive and updated the firmware via usb. Worked like a charm since. Any questions you may have regarding this procedure are easily answered in you sharp tv manual.

Hope this helps!

Hi guys,

Today I will buy Sharp LC52LE835U. Could you tell me which settings are optimal for:
90% - 1080p movies and cartoons
10% - Computer TV

I saw in Internet few settings profiles but which one is better for 835 series.

Thanks

There are settings on page 1 and some on page 5 of this thread. Both settings are a great reference to start on. tweak them all.

Wondering if I should pull the trigger on this one? My old panasonic dlp has gone out on me. The room this will be in is pretty bright so plasma is out of the question. I really like the looks of the PQ on this one at BB and the price of this one is the max I can go to, but some of the posts on this thread make me a little nervous.
