My question relates to BlueRay re-encoding into a Quicktime compatible format. I am not video savvy and would appreciate clear and not super techie answers.

My goal is to convert a BlueRay mt2s file into a Quicktime compatible format. I am not looking forward to save disk space, so I am not looking for a highly compressed version of my BlueRay. I basically want to change the file format for a more convenient set up. I am happy with a 30GB file as long as it would play via quicktime and preserve most of the detail of the original.

Is there a codec and set of settings that is less lossy than using the standard options that most programs have such as "Rip to 1080i; Rip to AppleTV".

I do appreciate your answer.
Many thanks,
