Here's some good blues & rock that I have rediscovered since the Empire:

- Casandra Wilson - Come On In My Kitchen - Blue Light till Dawn
- Eva Cassidy - Take Me to the River - Live at Blues Alley
- Stevie Ray Vaughan - Tin Pan Alley - The Real Deal - wow, one of my favorite songs now
- Talking Heads - Swamp - Stop Making Sense (the whole album is bass happy and fantastic)
- U2 - With or Without You - The Joshua Tree
- Jeff Beck - A Day in the Life - Live at Ronnie Scott's

Hans Zimmer - Why So Serious - TDK Soundtrack

Around the 3:30 minute mark, some very low bass kicks in.

Make sure to listen to the FLAC. So good.

I'm ashamed to be posting this... but this Yo Gabba Gabba song has far too much bass. (I'm merely posting this for a laugh, not to get anyones knickers in a knot.)

To prevent a bad ear worm after the previous posting , how about some chill artists with some strong bass beat:

Nothing worse than a bad club mix version of a song that every parent wishes that they would never have to hear again.

Just watched "Queen rock Montreal & Live Aid" dvd last night, a fantastic performance. Freddie Mercury's vocals are really impressive, he can cover 4 octaves, and their drummer is superb. Anyways the song "Get Down Make Love" rattled my walls! Has a bit of the psychodelic/light show performance in it, its amazing.

I don't know if the youtube bitstream has the low bass performance/output like the dvd (digital DTS) does as it doesn't sound like it on my pc speakers, but here is the link anyways:

Any suggestions that aren't rap or R&B?

I suggested quite a few that weren't, I find it hard to believe that everyone in this thread only listens to it or can't come up with anything that isn't.

How about some Brian Bromberg? Acoustic and electric bass.
http://www.brianbromberg.net

from the Hands CD (solo acoustic bass) -
Beatles Medley
King of Pain

From the Choices CD (electric - and everything that sounds like a guitar on this disc is actually a bass tuned to the guitar range) -
Never Give Up

The entire Wood and Wood II CDs (acoustic jazz trio).

I have different moods. Lately I've been in the mood for rap/R&B -- but also listen to rock frequently. What do you listen to/prefer?

Warning...Warning...Warning

Ok, this song is nuts on the sub. Don't start off playing this at high level and I recommend putting your AVR at -20. This outputs 100db of pure room shaking bass, insane at this volume. It all starts at around 20s in.
