Help me identify this werewolf(?) movie....

I'm not even sure I've ever seen it, but when I was a kid I remember seeing the cover and being intrigued. I'm guessing it's a werewolf movie.

Anyways, only thing I know about it is the cover had a picture/drawing a guy standing sideways with his mouth open and a wolf's snout coming out of it.

Hopefully someone remembers what this was. For some reason it popped into my head yesterday (after 30+ years of not thinking about it) and it's been driving me crazy.

I remember that film. It was called "The Company of Wolves."

Awesome. That's it. Thankyamuch, good sir.

As a kid, the cover always intrigued me (back in the days of video stores where I'd just browse covers) but I don't think I ever actually watched it. kindof forgot about it until yesterday when it popped into my head again. Cool.

6.6 on IMDB and looks like Netflix has it. Unfortunately not to Watch Instant.

Company of Wolves is on my DVR. I think either SHO or HDNet Movies is showing it this month.

Back then the VHS box art drew you in. Especially the horror tapes! There's tons of movies I've never watched but I'll never forget the box.

Ahh the good ol' days.

Wow, I thought I was the only one who remembered it. It's kind of a slow film, but it rewards patience. And it has Angela Lansbury.

Company of Wolves is excellent. A red ridding hood tale of sorts that creates a fantastic mood with the sets they use. It's dated but def worth watching for any horror or werewolf fan.

I caught it again on Showtime. A better viewing choice than the current RED RIDING HOOD.

Glad to hear it might actually be a decent movie. I bumped it to the top of my Netflix queue.

One of my all time favorites. I had it on laser disc at one time. Love the music, stories, characters and multiple levels of stories. It's on BD now and even though better than the dvd they didn't do as much as they could have done better including better extras.

I always like to challenge women to spot what the story is really about. There are clues in the begining. None of the women guessed it. Sarah Patterson did another movie and then that was it according to something I was reading on her.

I love movies that bring up fairy tales and folklore and is done right. The Brothers Grimm was a huge let down for me but the Shrek movies are a good example of how to do it right. I wish Dreamworks would do even more with fairy tales (Puss n Boots is coming) and make them a little darker like they really were originally.

It's been a long time, but I saw THE COMPANY OF WOLVES in the theater and had it one tape for a while. I always meant to find a soundtrack album: gorgeous music.

This was one of Neil Jordan's first films. I recall some critics being flustered by the combination of the dream-like, fairytale tone with the animatronic werewolf transformations, which were newly explicit at the time, as in AN AMERICAN WEREWOLF IN LONDON.

It's a very arty psycho-sexual fable of the fantasies of an adolescent girl; not a proper horror film, though it has gruesome bits.

But thinking about it, I may have to see it again.

I stand corrected on Sarah Patterson's career after TCOW. She did a total of 3 more movies.

I've always wanted to watch this movie, but for some reason never have. it seemed like a very weird, but intiguing werewolf movie, based on the little bits I've seen and read about it. I'll have to pick it up on Blu and watch it for myself.

Note that it is barely a werewolf film. More like the dream life of an adolescent girl.

I'll see it again and post a review in the 1980s thread (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1259578) within the next week or so.

Yeah, I bumped it up in my Netflix queue right below all my "very long wait" movies, and wouldn't you know it, I keep getting those ones shipped to me instead.

Guess I need to put it at #1....

Netflix apparently got tired of shipping me the new releases at the top of my queue and finally sent this one.

Excited to watch it. Should be here tomorrow.
