Denon 2011 lineup. - Page 5

thanks for the clarification! This is an interesting feature but not really useful until I buy that McMansion and have a room that could swallow all those speakers!

That's nothing special if you mean off of MSRP; I got 25% off of my 4311 from a well known online retailer, a few months after it became available.

Not a new feature anyway ... been available for the past few years.

+1

In the past, some authorized resellers have sold at 25% off MSRP right out of the gate. In the case of the 3310, due to the over inflated MSRP, it was selling for 40% off MSRP out of the gate. With the reduction in MSRP of the XX12/X92 models, prices will likely be closer to MSRP, and it seems authorized resellers may be held more accountable to selling at MSRP.

Why do you say that?

Word on the street from a couple authorized resellers I've spoken with.

Probably responding to complaints from the "bricks and mortar" stores that don't have the low cost, higher volume and greater product width that enable them to do that.

So when are we going to see something "official" that announces the xx12 models???

No kidding. I've been waiting for months for news on the 4312, its features and its pricing. Throw me a damn bone, someone.

Please!

Wondering when they'll announce their new 2011 lineup. I've put off buying the 3311 to see what they'll have.

Jeff Talmadge (Denon Dir Product Dev) has indicated a press announcement on the new line will be made on Tuesday, April 12.

Very cool. Any idea how long we will have to wait after the announcment to buy em? =)
my question as well - if its 2 months I will give up on the new and go with the current or old!
dctrimble, HAHA.. you make me smile. You make it seem as though 2months is a full calender year. Techie nerds and their toys!...

Me too!!

Given they seem to find it impossible to actually supply (in Australia) a 4311 I've had on order since November it's getting to a point that I might actually cancel the order and wait for the 4312......

Ronin, its just like Dog Years, only more expensive!
What indication is there that there will be a 4312 in the first place? Everything I have seen points to 3312 as the highest model upgrade. They normally dont push refreshes this quick anyway. Ie: 4308 to 4310. Only reason we had 4310 to 4311 was to add HDMI 1.4 for 3D. I cant honstly think there will be a reason to push yet another new 4312 model.

Re: 4310 ---> 4311, I'd say XT32, 9-ch amplification and DSX with potential for 11.2 (with an additional, separate amp of course) was a bigger factor than HDMI 1.4 for many.

Along those lines DTS is launching DTS Neo:X in receivers this year. Hence a possible motivator for a 4311 ----> 4312 product refresh.

This is a mere WAG on my part of course. Let's see what they announce next week. If they do XT32 for ~$1k, that would spark a lot of interest. In me at least.

Because Denon's Director of Product Development said there would be.

My thinking here is that the 4312 is going to have a greater number of (and better) DACS and a more robust amp section similar to what's in the 4810, combined with the newer features that are in the 4311 (Airplay ready, HDMI 1.4, up to date Audyssey platform, better multizone management, wireless glitches cured, etc.).

So an updated 4810.

I really don't understand why Denon doesn't put preamp outputs on their receivers until you get up to the 3311. I think the 1912 and up should all have preamp outputs. I really don't understand why they don't. It can't be that expensive to add them. My only guess would be so people will buy the more expensive models.

I think we'll find out tomorrow about the new/upcoming models, but I thought this was interesting. It is a product-info blurb from Audyssey about their new LFC feature, the bottom line on where to find it states it will be coming out on the Denon AVR4312CI, due later this year.

Still expect a little haggling with legit dealers, as who pays MSRP these days for Denon AVR's?
But against Denon placing a prohibition on third-party sales and transshipping to help out their authorized dealer network, we shall see how effective Denon is?

One more day!

Going through online articles about Audysesy LFC, I find them mentioning "Audyssey LFC will first appear in AVRs in September of this year".
You have to wonder against this April 6th page, whether that is the month that the AVR-4312 will be available.

Its disappointing that internet radio isn't available in some of Denon's lower priced units as it is in some other manufacuturers' 2011 models.

Considering that previously the low end of networked receivers was the $1199 AVR-3311CI, the unannounced $529 AVR-1912 represents a much lower price point for that capability. Guess we shall see if that's true tomorrow.

I'm still new to this receiver and audio stuff but how does the avr-3311 compares to this year's avr-3312?
