I turned out that the local office had too many TVs to deliver and had trouble keeping up with their promised deliver times, which I can can understand. My main issue is that they had my phone number and they did not call me on Saturday to say that they would be running late. Unfortunately calling Pilot's national office with my tracking number did not help as the local office is actually closed on Saturdays so they could only tell me what was in the computer system. When the deliver guys finally showed up they were driving a rented Ryder truck. They proceeded to drop the TV in my Great Room and said bye as they still had five more to deliver. They barley gave me enough time to inspect the box let alone open it up and turn it on. At the end of the day the TV is here and so far appears fine. Though I did not pay for shipping Amazon credited my account the shipping charge Pilot charges them, which I appreciated.

Strange. I bought my 55" GT30 from Panasonic directly and they use Pilot as well. Pilot people from local office actually called me twice before delivery, first time a week before to arrange the day and time and second time a day before delivery to confirm. The delivery guys called me about 10 minutes before the showed up to tell me that they are close.

When they did show up I asked them if they can carry TV to the basement since that's where it was supposed to go anyway. They started to say that they cannot due to liability. I showed the $ and 45 seconds later it was in the basement. They helped me to take the top of the box off and waited while I verified that TV was OK. No rushing whatsoever. They even said that wanted to make sure that it was working since they did not want to have to come back to pick it if it was broken. Once I confirmed that it was OK they gave a slip to sign-off and off they were.

So conclusion is that everything depends on where you are and a good tip to the delivery person(s). It's amazing what a difference few bucks can do for the well being of your new shiny gadget . It was probably as close to a white glove delivery as I could've expected.

You are absolutely right, it depends on your local. I am sure pilot is a very reputable and good shipper, and I would not let my one off experience discourage anyone from ordering online from Amazon or Panasonic.

I though Pilot shipping did very good with my new GT30 50". No rush at all.

When I get home today I'll be at the end of my 100 hour break in, at which point I'll try out D-Nice's settings. Question: can I use that for every input? I noticed that each input has its own settings. For example, can I use his settings for my cable box AND PS3 to get decent enough results for both?

U can use different settings on each HDMI input and yes I'd start there and then play around with them on each to your liking. It's hard to say what things look like through your eyes on your set in your house, so there's no right or wrong.
I'm no expert at all and I didn't even finish tuning mine yet but that's the info I've gathered from reading here.

I fiinally received my 65GT30 from Amazon. The build date is June 2011, HOWEVER, the PDP EEP version is greater than the 82.44 listed in this post (I don't remember the exact version number, I just remember it was a higher version number). Does this mean that Amazon had the card replaced while it was in stock?

Same here. Mine was a day late so Amazon refunded me the shipping they were charged. Gotta love that customer service!

I received my 60gt30 yesterday from Amazon and unfortunately it is June build. I have already called Panasonic and they were able to schedule me for this Friday for the FBR fix. I pushed the apt to Monday because I am off work on the 12th.

Ah yes buzzing. It depends entirely on who you ask. One person will say that is is not, as they have a silent plasma. Another's opinion is entirely different. You cannot nail this down.

However, I'm going to tell you this. All plasma's buzz and they buzz differently, but they all have at least some buzz. Mine has a buzz on grey solid that I can hear easily at 8'. However, during normal viewing of your standard blue ray, I've yet to hear it distinctly over content. 55GT30 July 2011 THX mode. Take it for what its worth. (I bought a 2011 up from 2010 explicitly to try and remove buzzing and/or FBl) I've fought with the buzzing problem for a long time. Buzzing will vary with the viewer's ability to hear it, room acoustics, model, build, elevation, standard deviation of amt of silicone goop they put on coil x, content, time use, screw tightness and phase of the moon. It would just be better to eliminate the idea of "buzzing" completely from your mind and proceed to enjoy your TV. I'm in the slow but gradual process of clipping off my high frequency hearing so I can have an LED silent plasma TV, too.

I have no buzz at all on mine. I had a samsung plasma that buzzed like crazy and the screen eventually cracked for no reason at all.

I tried to listen for a buzz on the Panny and I hear nothing unless I put my ear right up to the thing.

Hey guys I have a question, I got a 60GT30 and did the break in slides and have D-Nice`s settings and it looks great in 2D...my problem is I started watching some 3D content last night on Directv and noticed while some stuff looked good and crisp the background on alot of stuff looked blurred, almost like looking at it with my eyes crossed. Ive never had a problem viewing 3D stuff so is there something I need to change in settings or what? I really appreciate any help, thanks

There you go Always_Cheapo. You had better return your set for another. Yours is defective.

The batteries might need charging on the 3d glasses

The D'nice settings for the GT30 use THX mode and the settings are the same for all inputs in that mode.

Hahaha! Had a pn 6500 sammy that cracked out of nowhere...apparently its called thermal expansion and samsung wont cover it..so my 1300 dollar tv became useless..which is why im going back to panasonic..who respects the warranty

I just received these today from Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...00_i00_details
Will try them out this weekend after my break in is over.

Thanks for the reply....don't think that's it as I've made sure they're fully charged. I was just watching Imax Under The Sea on Directv and while most of it was superb there were parts here and there where it almost looked like double vision. I also noticed while watching a concert on N3d that the singer was clear but the background had this blurry effect

So is the majority of GT30 owners using DNice's settings? I'm a little apprehensive about going into the service menu so I think I'm gonna use Dave-O's after completing the 100hr break in. I'd also love to see the settings you guys are using for gaming on the 360.

Just curious, have newer builds fixed the buzzing and green blob / pink edges problems that plague these units (especially the ST30)?
Mine's an Oct build and haven't seen any green blobs/pink edges or heard any buzzing while running the slides for the last 71hrs.

Got it from Sears.

Using THX mode with contrast bumped to
65, brightness 51, color 48 and 2.1 luminance
patch applied.

I also have used Dave O's settings (both
low and mid panel brightness)

They're all good--custom w/Dave o's at mid
panel brightness is very similar to THX assuming
the luminance patch is applied. Dave O's w/low
panel brightnes is better for a low light environment.

Mine is surely going back to Amazon... Not sure, Amazon has exchange policy or not... difficult to find with this price...
On the other hand, seems like, Amazon like other cheat was cleaning up its inventory...

my 65GT is scheduled to be delivered on Friday, does anyone have any advice on which type of Tilting Wall Mount to get that can support the weight of the 65" and still tilt down just a hair (no more than 5 degrees would really be needed)?

Also, am i reading this right, the first thing I should so is to run the slide show for as long as possible from a Thumb drive (or whatever) and using the specified setting on Pg1?

This is a very good tilting mount with great adjustments. I am using the LTM for my 60GT

As far as break in goes you will hear different approaches, but I am using the slides on a usb stick for the first 100-125 hrs, then having it calibrated.

Is amazon sending out newer builds now? Anyone know if the GT is generally more reliable and if it has fewer issues than the ST? I need to exchange my ST because of bad buzzing, green blobs AND pink edges (whew) and am wondering if it's worth upgrading to the next model line up. Any feedback would be appreciated.
