My main issue is that they had my phone number and they did not call me on Saturday to say that they would be running late. Unfortunately calling Pilot's national office with my tracking number did not help as the local office is actually closed on Saturdays so they could only tell me what was in the computer system. When the deliver guys finally showed up they were driving a rented Ryder truck. They proceeded to drop the TV in my Great Room and said bye as they still had five more to deliver. They barley gave me enough time to inspect the box let alone open it up and turn it on. At the end of the day the TV is here and so far appears fine. Though I did not pay for shipping Amazon credited my account the shipping charge Pilot charges them, which I appreciated.

Strange. I bought my 55" GT30 from Panasonic directly and they use Pilot as well. Pilot people from local office actually called me twice before delivery, first time a week before to arrange the day and time and second time a day before delivery to confirm. The delivery guys called me about 10 minutes before the showed up to tell me that they are close.
When they did show up I asked them if they can carry TV to the basement since that's where it was supposed to go anyway. They started to say that they cannot due to liability. I showed the $ and 45 seconds later it was in the basement. They helped me to take the top of the box off and waited while I verified that TV was OK. No rushing whatsoever. They even said that wanted to make sure that it was working since they did not want to have to come back to pick it if it was broken. Once I confirmed that it was OK they gave a slip to sign-off and off they were.
So conclusion is that everything depends on where you are and a good tip to the delivery person(s). It's amazing what a difference few bucks can do for the well being of your new shiny gadget
. It was probably as close to a white glove delivery as I could've expected.
