How far off the wall does the back of your TV sit from the wall using this mount?

Thanks.

I also noticed while watching a concert on N3d that the singer was clear but the background had this blurry effect

Make sure the spring loaded switch is on, red light blinks. Try another pair if you have more than one. What you describe is exactly what happens when the batteries get low

As far as break in goes you will hear different approaches, but I am using the slides on a usb stick for the first 100-125 hrs, then having it calibrated.

This does look like a pretty cool mount, very different looking than what I am used to, seems a little scary to me not to have the center section (I have 31.5" between my 2 outer studs, with one directly in the middle as well). I was looking at the Tilting Monoprice mounts, but i am not sure if those are made well enought o actually tilt with a 100lb big panny Plasma

The front of the tv sits 3 3/4 inches from the wall. If you want one the is more of a low profile, but lacks the adjustability you could look at: http://www.chiefmfg.com/Products/RXT2

Thats the nice thing about this mount and the sliding bars. If you take a look at the manual on the site you will see that mounting options. You may be able to put one support on the center stud, and the other on on of your outer stud, and slid the TV on the rails to center it in the room. My mount is rated for 200lbs and the bigger one I suggested is rated at 250lbs.

I ordered a 60GT from Amazon on 11/27 and received it on 11/30 and it has an August build with no problems whatsoever. I haven't seen an ST in person but the GT is awesome!

mine buzzes too. It's loud enough to where you can hear it in a perfectly quiet room, but when the TV is not muted then there's no possible way you can hear it.

plasmas are known to buzz, I don't think this is unusual at all. I also have a 60GT30.

comment from Amazon:

Plasma Buzz
-----------

On a final note, I have noticed a lot of people complaining about plasma buzz. I feel obligated to point out that the buzz is especially bad within the first 100-200 hours of operation, and decreases somewhat over time.

There are a number of factors that play into the buzzing, including altitude, viewing distance and picture settings. Granted operating altitude is not easy to change, but the buzzing can be reduced by sitting farther from the TV set, and dialing down the contrast setting (buzzing is directly related to how bright an image is).

A lot of people have TVs too large for their viewing distance and have contrast set way too high, and only ever realize it when plasma buzzing or dithering becomes a nusiance.

Amazon probably has lots of distribution centers from which they ship throughout the US...

There are also vendors that sell TVs through Amazon...

It depends highly on where you are located and from what center + vendor your TV ships out from...

I just got a 50GT direct from Amazon. The tv looks great but unfortunately it's a May build. Seems like the 55 and 60s that Amazon is shipping are later builds. Guess I might have to contact panasonic if it has any issues.
Anyone know what builds are getting sent out now for the 65" version?
Just so everyone is clear - the build dates going out from Amazon purchases are random. It depends on your location and the shipment center, and its stock. I've seen people get May builds for 60GT30, but I got an August build. Other people have received November builds.

There's really no rhyme or reason, you just have to try your luck and see.

I got my 50 from Amazon over the weekend, looks like it shipped from their PA warehouse but I definitely drew the short straw and got a March build. Saw some slight fluctuation so I'll just make the call to have the A-board replaced. Aside from that, the picture on this thing is simply incredible.

Hi everyone,

I have a quick question: I have had the 60gt30 for about a month so far and I am really enjoying this set. I got an August build and it is fbr free. Last night i have noticed something and have no idea in what it is.

In certain pre-set modes like THX or custom, whenever the gamma is set to 2.2 and panel brightness to mid, in dark scenes the screen produces a grainy effect noticeable only on close inspection....this grainy effect is also noticeable on the black bars when watching a 16:9 movie.....it looks like the sub-pixels are flashing randomly in random spots of the screen creating a "sparkly" effect that goes away when there is a brighter image displayed like a daylight shot. Last night I was watching the BD of Cowboys and Aliens and at the beginning when they are around the fire at night I can notice that effect which disappears during daylight scenes or when i change the gamma to 2.4 or panel brightness to low or high. I am not sure I have explained the thing properly and whether or not this is an issue, but it would be great if somebody would shed some light here......

Thank you in advance......
I'm running the slides now and notice that it'll buzz on random slides (meaning it'll buzz on green in one loop, grey on another, and none at all). The buzzing can have a different pitch as well.
hi marco79f, i have recently purchased gt30(42"), great tv, but only yesterday i have noticed too, grainy effects as u have mentioned, i have tried another HDMI connector, but still persists, on a HD satellite box and ps3 connected devices, if anybody can shed any light, much appreciated, Rev.

March build for a 50-inch shipped from Phoenix to No. CA.

So buzzing is there while running the slides but not bad except when it goes to one of the gray slides. Is that what everyone else is observing?

I can't say for sure but it sounds like film grain - actually in the source of the movie and not coming from your TV. There tends to be noise in night shots in movies because of the higher sensitivity of the film.

Update on my Pilot Freight Delivery

Pilot Freight delivered my order one week prior to the estimated delivery date. They had done the necessary calls to set the schedule date. From the start, the communications were timely and on the ball. When the appointment was set, I specifically asked about the 'White Glove' service and if there would be two people. I was told 'yes', there would be two people.

The truck arrived with my set early! There was one guy, not two, delivering the set. He had no notation on his delivery sheet about 'white glove'. He did state that he could handle getting the set in, and that he would set it up on the stand, to test it. He did this. This was when it was noticed that the screen was cracked, starting in the left corner of the set, with multiple spider cracks also spreading out from the main crack. He had me write on the delivery form 'screen cracked, delivery refused'. He repackaged the set and took it with him. I called Amazon and they placed a replacement order.

I asked the Amazon party about the 'White Glove' service. They stated that it did not necessarily mean that two people would come out. They stated that it essentially depended on if the delivering party could handle the set by themselves. The guy that came today had NO problem with the set. He picked the set up off the dolly and walked it in my house, to set it down.

I was actually kidding /being snarky.

The only person who is able to tell if it buzzes too much too little, is you. Panasonic can't tell you and this forum can't tell you. There is no benchmark because all humans have different receptiveness to it. There will be people with supposedly dead silent plasma's on all content. My Panasonic service man has iffy hearing and thus no TV buzzes too much. Something I can hear plain as day he cannot hear at all. See the problem?

Good news and bad news. I received my 60GT30 today from Amazon (August build). I came home and was talking to my wife about the TV. I asked if they wanted to set it up or just set it inside and left. She said they asked and she told them to just leave it and then she said she was surprised that only one guy delivered the TV. She went on to say that the guy had a little pickup truck with the TV laying down in the back Wait a minute, what did you just say! That's right, the *&@#$ delivery guy had the TV laying on its side. I wanted to kill the guy, but he was long gone. Freakin' states it and shows pictures all over the box.

So I unboxed the TV, checked for signs of damage and I am currently running the break-in slides. What should I be looking for as far as any signs of potential damage? How soon might (will?) they materialize?

This is why I was reluctant to order from an on-line retailer. The reality is I have no idea if it made the entire trip from the Amazon warehouse on its side and I would have no way to guarantee that a replacement set wouldn't either. Heck even if I went to a big box store I would have no idea how they handled the TV.

Any thoughts?

24 more hours of slides to go then I can finally watch some beautiful tv.

I think the only real concern is a cracked panel. It's not ideal, but I have transported them on their side without issue.

Some how I am very receptive to low frequencies.. although I am bad on high frequencies (even think myself having issues with hearing)... But low frequencies really irritates me
I am calling 2-3 friends this weekend and going to 2 friends home to check the plasma working... But I noticed, this buzzing is very related to colors on the TV..
On the other hand, my wife doesnt care about this buzzing sound..
(I went to local Magnolia and found the same sound there too in 60GT30... but cant say exactly the intensity in that crowded environment...)
You may have heard this before, but all plasmas "buzz".

I had a Samsung plasma that buzzed - very audible in a quiet bedroom. I returned it for another replacement.

The next one buzzed, but perhaps not quite as loud. Still audible in a quiet bedroom. I got used to it.

My sister has a c450 plasma - it buzzes like mine....It's in a bedroom, but she's used to it.

One of my relatives Panasonic X1 buzzes - but you can only hear it from the rear/sides of the panel....although its less of a buzz than the Samsung.

That is exactly what I am getting from my March 50". I have no buzz at all except for one of the grey slides. Can't complain at all.

I checked my TV out last night while it continues to run the slides and there is no perceptible buzz at all. That may change once I start watching content on it.
