Hi all,

Just wanted to ask what 3D glasses do you use/recommend for a 42GT30? Not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either.

Manhy thanks,
Chris.

I was only able to get the Panasonic glasses to work with my GT30. They are the IR model EW3D3xx. The next generation of Panny glasses are RF and won't work with the 2011 and earlier Panny TV's.

The playstation glasses work well and are very reasonable.... ~$25 now in Amazon. I've gotten 4 pair.

Hi to All,
I've one 50GT30 plasma tv and will want to use it better.
About the connection I've some questions:
1) To playback external media file on USB Hard Disk, like mkv or ISO DVD ,Blu-ray images, wich file system must we use?
2)Wich is the best way to connect my file server (10 TByte DVD-BD iso file, mkv, avi, mov...) ?
3) There are universal 3D glasses tested?

Simple question... Right now the 50" GT30 is available and ready on Amazon, for a price below the MSRP.

The 55" model, however, is only available for pre-order and is not shipping yet. Its price is listed at the MSRP.

My question is, when the 55GT30 is finally available on Amazon for shipping, will they ALSO offer it at a price below the MSRP?luojie

A 2011 model is only availible for pre-order that cant be right ? I can guarantee Panasonic is not producing GT30's anymore.

Looks like Paul's tv has 3 in stock for 1299.

I am looking at Panasonic BR players and ran across a thread on the BR player forum mentioning a firmware update for the current gen players, as well as the current lineup of plasmas. The update sounded like it gave Vieralink some decent upgrades, but of course the 30 series wasn't listed as part of the update. Is there any way to apply it to our TVs safely? You guys think they'll release one for us down hte road, or do these companies abandon older models when it's time to add functionality through a FW update?

An upgrade that the GT30 series desperately needs is for the Gamma to be fixed in Custom Mid/High brightness settings with HDMI Content set to off (It works fine with Graphics) ...

I hope Panasonic does not forget about us and gives us a firmware update that fixes the issue.

They've been done supporting the ST/GT/VT30 series since last year. Moving forward the 60 series is the focus.

I just learned that these work with my gt30. mad.gif Bought four pairs of the overpriced panasonic glasses that are very uncomfortable. Have a pair of $19.99 PS3 glasses coming in the mail. They are $19.99 currently at best buy/amazon.

Is there a particular model? I have a pair of the Panny glasses. They seem a little big (I got the medium) but not necessarily uncomfortable. They do let a lot of light in from the sides though, and at $65 a pair, would rather try the PS2 at $20 for our second pair:)

No model number... just the Sony Playstation-3 3D glasses. Amazon link below. Looks like the $20 seller is sold out... so they're now $36. Keep checking though, They seem to go up and down in price all the time....

Thanks! Do you know how the sizing compares to the Pannies?

I don't know if I made a mistake

Panasonic TC-P65ST50 and TCP65GT30

Both these models for the same price but I heard picture quality was similar so I chose the P65GT30 because of the bevel.

Would there have been a compelling reason to get the ST50? I could still call the store.

Thanks!
You picked a 2011 model over a 2012 model definitely missing out on some performance imo
st50 is equal to gt50 not gt30

I am having issues with the DLNA....

I am using NAS device and it does not see all the folders I have them set to show up on the NAS.

The strange part is I added a new folder to see if I could get it to show up and it did but got rid of 75% of the folders that were there before.

Anyone have any idea how can reset the servers it sees in the list?

Well the PS3 glasses are much more comfortable than the panasonic oem glasses I got with my gt31 and the avatar starter kit. The only downside is that they are wider and they reflect/mirror what is behind me in the outside corners of the glasses.
I'll throw these 3D glasses in incase someone wants to check them out. Have been happy with them overall in terms of performance and comfort. Comes with case, cleaning cloth, instructions, cord to recharge.

Well I had my A-Board replaced under warranty for the fluctuating brightness, AND

10 minutes later the TV shuts off and blinks 11 red lights.
Just my luck, bad A-Board from the factory I assume.

I got the original A-Board back in now while they wait for another one to get shipped in from Panasonic.
This makes me not even want to try this again with another A-Board.

Just venting...

I have medium pannys and I like the ps3 glasses better for fit only. The lenses are much bigger so i can see some reflection/mirror of stuff behind me in the corners. I think I am going to bite the bullet and get some size large oem pannys just to try them out.

I have the Medium Panasonic's as well, but they fit strange...maybe it's just the way 3D glasses have to be, but the lenses don't curve to your face at all. The gap out at the edges is distracting. The price of the PS3 glasses makes them worth a try, but didn't see any size on the Amazon page. Are they "one size fits all"?

I just came home to watch football and my panasonic 55GT30 won't turn on. The power LED is blinking 14 times then there is a brief pause. I am still wading though this thread and the one on panasonic poer on issues but havent't found anything obvious. The TV is out of the manufacturers warranty but I have an additional year with my credit card. Trying to figur eout what the 14 blinks actually means.

Take Care
Thats an IR LED SOS. I had that one time leaving the service menu. Unplugging the set for about 15 minutes fixed it.
Thanks much. I had to go down and turn the breaker off but when I turned it back on, the TV started up fine.

ANy idea what might cause that to happen. The TV wasn't being used at the time. My wife had called me earlier in the day indicating that the screen had some large 5's on it. I thought it might be the HTPC that was acting up and had her restart the computer. It started up fine as she had to interact with Windows to get to Windows Media Center. When I got home and wanted to watch the football game, the TV wouldn't power up.
Mine was the power flicker it does when leaving the service menu, when I should have killed power to leave the service menu. That happened almost a year ago and Ive not had an issue since. I think a glitch casues the fault.
