I have only had this beautiful monitor for a few months now. LOVE IT!!! But...
I play ALOT of PS3, so there is the "game" setting that the TV actually picked for me. I didn't change ANYTHING on that setting because it looked so much better than my DLP.
However, playing "fast" games like Gran Turismo 5, which displays 1080p, there are moments when I get screen judder? Or maybe that's not the correct term? I notice that during certain times while driving in 1st person (in car view) or mostly during 3rd person 9chase cam view) while high speed turns are being made, the background will skip... blur... some kind of motion anomoly?
I've set the PS3 for "smoothing" and just about very other setting on the console I could to get the MOST picture possible. But I wonder if this isn't part of a LCD? I've watched/played on DLP's for 10 years now, until I got this LCD, so I can only assume is the "nature of the beast" so to speak? Now "slower" games, like Fallout: New Vegas and Grand Theft Auto IV, seem to do OK because they aren't displayed 1080p. Also, I use only HDMI, for the 1080 display, but could the motion blurring in backgrounds be just part of the display "fighting" with the PS3 console?
Does anyone else play PS3 games on their 732U? How does faster displayed games look? Again, most noticeable on GT5 during turns. (which if you've played that game, you know racing IS about turns!)
Someone try anything different with settings on the TV to help alleviate some of that "judder & blurring" I mentioned?
Will a technician be able to Calibrate for ALL Display Modes to help with this?
I went back through 100+ pages and I think I found my answer. (but please feel free to chime in with your experience!)
What I'm seeing maybe due to the 120hz setting in GAME Mode. Man, too late & too mnay posts read to remember EXACTLY what it's called, but I guess I need to turn that off & try again? I still have yet to get a REAL Calibration done on this.
Otherwise, I am STILL so thoroughly PLEASED with this Sharp LCD, that I will buy another. And I think the next one will be the 80" or maybe just another 70" with 3D...? Edited by Wizzard73 - 6/25/13 at 11:43pm
