So you can pick it up at the store if you order from there. It's an extra trip ( mine is less than a mile ) and hopefully it will be there on release day.

yeah, but it took over a year before the Ultimate Edition was released and the real reason the Ultimate Edition was released was to get in some more sales before Forza 4 came out. and I'd bet that Forza 5 will be on the next Xbox so it could be quite awhile before an ultimate edition of Forza 4 comes out. But then again, there are so many great games that unless you are a racing diehard, you could definitely wait.

I still have a good 20% of so left of Forza 2's career to do, even though I bought it not too long after it was released (And one more 2 hour or so online race to get the 1,000,000 credits achievement, I'm at 930k or so I believe). And 99% of Forza 3 left to do (I didn't want to jump into it beyond a quick look when I bought it 10 months ago until I wrapped up Forza 2, but I've been dragging my feet).

So it works out well for playing the waiting game with Forza 4.

I'd still like to finish up the original Forza sometime as well. Bought it a few months after release and got to the 40% mark, but the sensitive brakes drove me nuts and I refused back then to turn ABS on to avoid brake lockups since I was a PC racing sim fanatic and felt above antilock brakes. So I stopped since it was hard to brake heavily in that game with the sensitive brakes and just a few milimeters of throw on the triggers. Luckily Turn10 worked hard to improve that with the sequel and Forza 2 and 3 work much better with the 360's triggers than Forza 1 did (No need, for me at least, to use ABS on either sequel). I'd like to turn ABS on someday now that I'm not such a snob with my racing games and wrap that up on the original Xbox.

By the time I finish Forza 3, the Xbox 720 and Forza 5 will probably be out. So I imagine an Ultimate Edition of Forza 4, if it comes to fruition, should be out by then. And if I finish up Forza 1 before buying the latest sequel, Forza 6 will probably be announced by the time I finish the first three. They release these things quicker than I care to go through them (I like doing it in spurts with long breaks in between, to avoid the repetitive nature these extended career modes can cause).

My Demo Impressions (I got an early code):

The game looks beautiful. The step up from Forza 3 is all areas will be immediately evident. The framerate is solid with no tearing which I think was everyone's biggest worry with them stepping up the visuals and adding more cars to the track.

The tires have much better feedback. This was to expected by their partnership with Pirelli. Track surface variances effect traction in a more realistic manner.

Braking has also been redone. No more riding the brakes hard into the corner. The traction circle, all around, has been improved.

Steering. This is the biggest change. Turning it to simulation will means you cannot over correct or will pay for it. The nice effect is that you can dial out understeer better than before. This makes for VERY tense racing. You can't just flick around the steering anymore.

Loading times on the track didn't seem to bad. The track itself is beautiful. They really did a good job of applying visual polish and presentation. Sure, it doesn't add much to gameplay but it makes the whole experience more pleasant.

The sound is still the best in the business so nothing much to say there. The difficulty is better now. Hard is harder than before so the jump from medium/hard/professional is much better handled than in Forza 3.

Seems like everyone has nothing but positive things to say about the demo

One little thing is the music cannot be turned off in the demo so the fix is to set it for music from your HHD and then either pause or turn the volume to zero.

Rivals mode sounds like a blast.

Everything from graphics to sound to physics has been improved over Forza 3

With the demo getting such high praise its hard to imagine just how good Forza 4 will be with everything available.
I guess I'm going to have to step it up as well and get me one of those Fanatec CSR Elite wheels.

Race rig, surround sound and a Butt Kicker with this game is going to be pure awesome. Check out this vid of the Zonda Cinque in the demo

The demo is short but very sweet and lets you know how the graphics and handling will be. The sound is awesome as well. I'm disappointed that the kinect feature wasn't included but its probably too complicated to include in a demo.

There wasn't any autovista either but I can tell you that looking at the cars parked in free mode while you select the color is amazing and life like. While I'm on the subject of sound I found this quote on the Forza forum and as an owner of a Butt Kicker it has me very excited

"Almost all of the audio used in Forza Motorsport 4 has been created specifically for this game, so it's a quite different audio experience compared to previous titles. As well as the DSP changes to the cars mentioned above, we have all-new sounds for tires, turbos, superchargers, electric motors, collisions, crowds, ambience, wind and many others. maybe the demo downloading is killing XBL? I can't sign in. And therefore I can't play the rivals part of the game.

But so far, the game is looking and playing fabulously in the main section of the game.

If you have certain cars in your Forza 3 garage they will be transfered to your Forza 4 profile. You don't get the actual car with paint and tune. You will however get to start with Forza 4's version of those particular makes.

If you have reached level 50 in Forza 3 you will be gifted cars based on your level and what's in your garage.

Credits will not be transfered from F3 to F4

Personally I like the black background of the menus in the new demo. The white was too stark. Now its much easier on the eyes and looks more elegant like you are looking at the Robb Report.

All things point to a nice improvement over Forza 3 with the exception of the Porsche problem. To sum it up, if you liked Forza 3 you will love Forza 4.

You can still pre order the LCE from Best Buy and get all the extra cars now instead of waiting several months for them to be released as DLC.

Just spent 2 hours with the demo. My initial impressions: this game is fantastic. I play with all assists off. Tried both normal and simulation steering. Normal feels like FM3 but I prefer the new simulation setting (I use the controller). Graphics are top notch - simply amazing what T10 has done with the 360!

I'm heading out the door but can't wait to get back to race more in rivals mode..

10/11/11 can't come soon enough!!

My impressions- Graphics are a notch above FM3, but they seem to be a bit darker. Sometimes in rivals mode the darker tone of the graphics makes it hard to see the slower cars you're coming up on. When they're in the more shadowy parts of the track, they seem to pop out of nowhere. I hope you can adjust the picture settings in the final build so I don't have to jack with my tv settings. The background music is awful, like something out of Outrun. Luckily theres a workaround to get rid of it. The actual car sounds are nothing short of EPIC. The Cougar's engine sound is nothing short of amazing. The physic's also feel better than the previous games. The simulation steering feels like the training wheels have been taken off. It's outstanding. Since this is the only title in my minuscule gaming budget for the foreseeable future, I'm glad it turned out so well. I'm really looking forward to the final product.

Pretty good! I'm sold. Graphics definitely look better than forza 3, but love the super smooth 60fps. Physics model didn't feel any different to me (with the ms racing wheel) - but it was good in forza 3 already.

Still feel like it doesn't have the sense of speed and flair of the nfs:shift series, but you can't have everything and 60fps at the same time. It feels kind of clinical, like an emotionless game for perfectionists, by perfectionists. The way forza has always been. I mean this in both a good and bad way. Hard to describe what I mean.

Hopefully the driving events are a little more varied this time than plain race after race. I don't expect to be dodging exploding barrels like split/second or running from the cops like hot pursuit, but a little variety can't hurt.

I loved, loved, loved the demo.

At first, I thought it really looked nice, but not a huge upgrade in graphics over Forza 3, then I put in Forza 3 and it is a HUGE difference.

I spent maybe 15 hours with Forza 3 and Forza 4, to me, feels a lot faster (sense of speed), and the steering and feedback just feel better - I have the MS Racing wheel.

I thought I could hold off on this until a pricedrop, but I now think this will be a Day 1 if there are compelling deals on it. Funny, as playing the Battlefield 3 beta has almost completely turned me off to the game opposite to the Forza demo. With all the mega-hype over BF3, I was certain it would blow my mind, but it just feels like a BF2 expansion pack. Not that that is a bad thing, just makes me way less excited.

totally stoked for this. GTA5 just left a biiter taste in my mouth and I never really played it much beyond getting basic licenses. Forza 3 however was much more fun. So of F4 is even better...BRING IT ON!

I need to quit my job so I can play all these games coming out.
