Simple, Cheap DVR/VCR, Composite Video In

I am looking for a stand-alone device that would record to it's internal hard drive from composite video input source or SVideo source (camcorder, STB archive output, etc.).

The DTVpal DVR or CM-7000 seem most likely candidates, but are unavailable or expensive.

Does the TIVO entry level unit have RCA input? Can it operate from this input without needing service plan? At $100 or less, this would be a great solution for simple DVR/VCR.

Thanks for any info!

The high def (HD) DVRs like Tivo, Moxi and DTVPal DVR/CM-7000 have no line inputs.

The std def (SD) Magnavox MDR515H does, with no fees. Click #1 in my sig. for lots of info.

The CM-7000 is certainly very available, but neither of those have any line inputs, as they are ATSC (OTA)-only, and record from their internal tuners. They only have RF, antenna inputs.
