Nothing new here. A closer reading of the thread would have noticed that this same article was referenced on the previous page back on January 15th.

It's that they've started running the promos for it. Last I'd looked there wasn't a third season. Outside of reading discussion about the most recent episode I often don't read these threads ad infinitum.

Thanks for posting the trailer. I'm ready for Season 3. Because of laudatory comments made by several posters, I held my nose at the price and bought the box set of BDs of Series 1-3 of the original Danish version of The Killing from Amazon UK. Series 1 is long, to say the least. It is comprised of 20 episodes, averaging about 57 minuted each. I have now watched the first 15 of them and have been blown away. Having seen all of Season 1 and the last few shows of Season 2 of the US version has been a big help. The story is filled with more red herrings than a fish market (not that there's anything wrong with that), so having already seen another version of the story was a big help. Many of the characters have different names than those in the US show but our intrepid detectives and the mayoral candidate were immediately recognizable, as were the Larson's and Mr. Larson's old friend and employee. Really looking forward to finishing all three series of this great show but no more so than I am looking forward to Season 3 of the US series.

Anyway, I can't recommend the Danish show too highly. It is only available on Region B discs, though, so those who want to see it will have to have either a Region B BD player or an all regions mod.

My friend from across the pond highly recommended this one. I just finished Season 1 of Forbrydelsen with English sub. My wife was wondering why I was glued to a series for once. Did not expect 20 episodes with each about 50 minutes long. Found that some of the twists and turns were tiresome at times. This original version left most of the violence off screen. Language was sanitized. Politicians are all the same when they were younger and more idealistic.

Now I wonder if our version is comparable and clarified the killer's motive.

Before I do that, let me continue with Season 2 next week. Need to take a break.
