why Are people resetting their Sony? the owners here and on the nx929 thread or whatever the model is, is it related to the set turning off for no reason then turning itself back on 4 seconds later?

mine does that once in a while...not sure if it is a flaw or if it is doing something on purpose

Anyone successfully connected their laptop and TV together via WiDi? The TV always reports "There are no items to display." Perhaps I'm not sharing content from my laptop properly. Any advice?

Good Morning All,

I had an unfortunate event with my KDL-60NX720 that I bought as an open box floor item from aafes. When I bought the tv, it had a slight nick in the bottom left of the glass. Thought nothing of it, bought the extended waranty etc etc etc. Last week I moved and I opted to move this tv along with one of my larger tv's to my new home. Even after wrapping it well with furniture pads and careful driving, I went to install the tv last night and found that I have three spider lines going from the bottom left (where it was nicked) to the top of the screen. They are so light that even turning on the tv, you really have to look for them, but I know where they are and it will drive me nuts. I am almost certain that no damage was done to the LED panel.

So the question I have is.. Does anyone know if that glass is fused to the LED panel and if it isn't, does anyone know if the glass is easily replaced. It looks as if the glass is held on by the screws around the back, but I didn't explore that last night since I felt like hurling when I found the damage.

Geeksquad just left and the bad news is the set is gone. He said that would have to replace entire panel (which is no longer available) since the T-con board is no longer available for this set.

The front gorilla glass can be replaced, it's just glued at the edges, nothing complicated.

The new FW version hit the european market today: PKG4.017EUA - according to Sony, "This software includes improvements for the performance and stability of the Internet TV features." I'd also like to know more of the details for this upgrade? Thanks.

I'm able to view photos and videos off my computer in another room via the wifi router. It's a really cool feature.

Must be a bug in the software.

The proximity sensor warning goes off on this with nobody even in the room. I'd think I have a ghost in the house but I have the friggin proximity sensor turned off in the options. I guess the ghost is in the machine. mad.gif

You are not alone, mine also turns itself off and back on. Usually happens within the 1st 5 minutes of the set being turned on.

I think that turning off and on is a software update happening. What happens to me is different. I start hearing beeping coming from the family room. I go in there and it's the friggin TV with the proximity sensor thing but I have that turned off in the options. Am I the only one having this issue?

I have had this happen once or twice in the last year. I had the set on and left the room. When I came back the proximity sensor was activated. It is not a regular occurrence, but I have also seen this happen.

My dad has a 60NX720. He just called me to say the TV turned itself off and on about 3 times, then the last time it stayed off. Could it be a software update? Don't you have to tell the TV you want to do the update? Is something failing?

I bought my 60nx720 last December and last week had to unplug the component cable. The metal caps and wires came off of the video/component adapter as I unplugged the cable. I contacted Sony but they refused to replace the adapter because it was 6 days out if warranty. I have to buy one and a Google search reveals nothing. Where can I buy one of these?

so i am set to receive a replacement model for the nx720 because the gorilla glass was seperating from the panel....they could not tell me what model i would be getting but they did say it would be comparable or better than the nx720 but would they really send me a hx850 as it is the next closest model with gorilla glass?

Question Guys: My 55 NX720 started buzzing loudly. Had a tech out, he changed out power boards and it still buzzes. He wrote his report (that said it buzzes loudly) and sent it back to Sony. I get a call from Sony saying "The TV is operating normally". I DON'T THINK SO. I own other Sony LEDs and they don't Buzz at all!

I have an open reference number. Who can I call to escalate this issue to at Sony? Is there an advanced service team that speaks English and cN actually make decisions? I am dealing with super low level people.

Or do I spam their Twitter and Facebook pages? Thanks for any help you can provide!
