It's fairly common to get that warning message even when everything is OK. Since you checked the wires you can ignore the message.

Happens to me but I have seen it goes away if I re-wire the speakers. Which leads me to think it might just be saying that if the connection is not as strong as it would like. Just a layman perspective.

i cant figure out how to log out of pandora. short of doing a factory reset.

That is common. As long as you have confirmed that they are hooked up correctly just disregard it.

I'm stumped. Really hoping someone here can help me, as Sirius and Yamaha have been no help at all.

My Sirius XM streaming was working perfectly up to the moment that I did a factory reset (to fix an unrelated issue). I use my login/password, and I just keep getting the invalid login message. I've tried changing my login and password multiple times, to multiple different formats. I'm under the 20 characters, etc. No dice.

Funny thing is, if I switch the receiver to use the trial account, it works (I'm listening as I type this).

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this would happen, and what I can do? I'm kind of desperate, and considering making an entire new SiriusXM account just to see if my account is somehow broken. It seems like since the streaming works with the trial account, that either SiriusXM has an issue on their side, or the receiver is having trouble sending authentication information, and the trial works differently.

I love this receiver, I just need my Sirius. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know! Thank you.

thank you all for the feedback, yes it weired how this YPAO handles, i removed all wires and plugged back again but same results. As you experts say i can ignore it but only wanted to confirm that this does not damage the receiver or speakers

A speaker is primary a coil of wire; that is what pushes the speakers. So wiring it one way or the other can't hurt anything. The reason you want to wire the speakers in phase is so that they are all pushing or pulling at the same time. If they aren't then what one speaker does is partially cancelled by another. You can look on the web for more info on why to wire speakers in phase.

This is for those that are having problems streaming music from their wireless laptops to the RX-V671 that is wired to their Verizon Fios network (may work with other routers/ISP providers):

I previously posted in the thread on how I was able to stream music from my laptop PC to my Yammi but I totally lost the ability after regaining power from Superstorm Sandy. After searching the net, I finally asked it the "right question" (the net is very finicky on how you ask questions before it spits out the answer you are looking for), I found that when I disabled IGMP Proxy, I was able to see my RX-V671 via my wireless laptop and stream to/play to with no problems.. To get to IGMP Proxy settings:

Log onto router-> (on the top) advanced-> (when it asks you if you want to proceed, choose yes) ->choose IGMP Proxy -> and next to IGMP Proxy (enable-disable), choose disable, then choose apply on the bottom (may have to click more than once for it to take).

I have read through half of this thread so far and plan on reading the rest when I get time, but I want to order this receiver asap and want to make sure I can run my ps3, blu ray player, and hd cable/dvr through this receiver with HDMI cables and have only 1 HDMI cable coming out of the receiver to the tv and get sound and video. My tv has a setting for ARC. Also I will be using a 5.1 setup and not 7.1.

I can't access Net Radio any more. Is there a way to fix this or a workaround?

Just spoke to Yamaha tech support today (12/23/2012.) I was told that they just received internal notification yesterday (12/22/2012) that a firmware update was finalized (in my case, regarding RX-V671) and scheduled to be released during Christmas week. I was told to check the product support page regularly over the next several days for the updated firmware - which will resolve the SiriusXM connection issue.

What happens when you try? Sometimes when listening to Pandora I will get an "Access Error" msg.

Wonder if this will fix the other internet radio issues also or just a Sirius update?

When I play back an audio CD I can not used 7 Ch..It states not avaliable..Id like to play music thru all speakers..how do I accomplish this? Im using a PS3

It could be a PS3 issue. Check what signal the 671 is getting from the PS3 (Information menu / Audio Signal / Input, then see what is says for Channels and Sampling rate). If it's not a 2.0 signal at 44.1kHz, you may have to change some PS3 settings.

Looks like it is set to 44.1/88.2/176.4...so I dont really know whats going on

I have this V671 receiver since a more than a month now. My set up is front Polk 60 monitor speakers with CS2 series II as center. I have my TWC Cable box HDMI input to receiver. And HDMI out from Receiver to Sharp Aquos TV with ARC. When I set it up everything worked like a charm initially , I used TWC remote to turn on Cable box and TV and receiver would automatically turn on too , same with switching it off. But now that does not happen anymore. I have to every time turn on Receiver after I have turned on Cable and TV.
How to make this work again. And also earlier TWC remote could change volume for receiver but not doing any more. No setting has been changed.

Second Question is that how to best use 3 speakers while watching movies etc. I mean I usually have DSP setup either straight or Movie standard but I think Center is always dominating other speakers.

What I meant was check the info on the receiver, not the PS3. How many channels and what bitrate is it actually getting from the PS3?

It says "Not Connected" I can then click on Pandora and Pandora works fine.

I dont know...how do I check that??

RX-V671 Firmware Update on Yamaha's site.
I found it on Google, first on USA site and then on EU site too.
I did it this afternoon and got mine updated from V1.22 to V1.39.
I did it by Network and worked nice. Less than 10 minutes.
By now I can't see any difference...
All my presets stay there after the update.

I was wondering if anyone had a similar experience since the 1.39 update. My subwoofer used to be very sensitive when operating the receiver at lower volumes. The sub would often power on and off. That seems to have stopped since the 1.39 update - which I am glad of, since it was particularly annoying b/c the sub would make a weird noise every time it would power up or down. The release notes listed general performance updates, but no specifics.

I doubt they changed anything related to the sub, but some of your settings might have been reset by the update. Is the subwoofer level still at the value you previously had?

Also, to solve your previous problem you can try reducing the sub's own gain (volume) control and raising the receiver's sub level to compensate. The net effect is the same output from the sub, but a higher output from the receiver to the sub which is more likely to prevent the sub turning itself off when playing at lower volumes.
