Probably nobody has the exact same combination of equipment as you, so just try the different options and see which you prefer. Then let us know smile.gif
post #1805 of 2142
cant see any differens :S sooo what to expect to see?
If you used an HDMI cable from the a400 to the 671 then "analog to analog" does nothing (it's only used for analog video input and output).

Processing On will only have an effect if you also set a specific output resolution (see page 94 of the manual). Since the scaling ability of the 671 is not that good, I would leave processing Off.

Hi, is anyone having problems with Rhapsody and/or Pandora? I'm receiving access errors on both inputs. Even deleting the accounts and trying to re-sign on is not working. Sirius is working, so I know it is not a networking error. Thanks.

I got those frequently until the latest update. I still get them but it is rare. Do you have firmware 1.39?
I do have the latest firmware (1.39 ). I've received the same errors in the past but this time it is lasting longer.

rhapsody and pandora work now. I had to turn the network off standby mode and turn of DHCP mode, then I turned both back on and that did the trick.

Excellent!

Still can't get Sirius to work. Just sits there stuck in buffering mode then spits out "Unable to play".

I have a couple of what might be very simple questions:
(1) Is there any way to hook up two pairs of speakers into the Zone 2 speaker jacks, short of just putting two wires in the left jack and two wires in the right jack?
(2) (unrelated to #1 above) I want to have a wireless speaker in another room that streams what I am playing on my receiver. One way I can do this is by going Sonos - but that would require me buying the Sonos Bridge, Connect and Play5 (or Connect:Amp + Speakers) which is a little pricey especially since I can control the RX-V671 through my phone. Is there any other more economical way to do this? Thanks.

You might want to try what I did - see my post above (#1810). My Sirius internet radio is working fine.

I tried and unfortunately it didn't work.

Hi Guys, I'm hoping someone can help me out with an issue with my V671. I've had this receiver for a while but only recently connected it to my home network. I've updated the firmware and generally been playing around with the features.

I've noticed today that when streaming music from my media server the receiver sorts the tracks in alphabetical order by ID3 Tag Title rather than by Filename or by ID3 Track No. I've checked the Random function on the receiver and that is set to "off" and I'm now stuck what to look at next. So firstly is this default behaviour for the streaming software in the receiver or is there something else going on here?

None of my other network media devices have this behaviour, my Xbox 360 and media PC all play tracks in the correct order so I hope that rules out the media server.

Any ideas?

TIA
Well that was a fast found explanation.

When using Windows Media Connect I get an option to view by Folder. I tend to use this option as each Album on the server is contained within an appropriate Artist folder. This folder list is sorted Alphabetically as you would expect but the sort does not change when you drill down to the track listing.

By selecting the Album view rather than the Folder view it takes longer to find the album you want but all the Tracks are displayed and Played in the correct order.

Sorry to trouble you all, normal service is now resumed smile.gif

3 Questions:

Why does it constantly default to AV1?

Is it not possible to play video off iPad through front USB port?

Since I transferred all my music from my PC to my network hard drive I haven't been able to play it. It sees it but says that the format is not accepted, or sometimes is flickers the song info on the receiver display and the menu screen, but it's not even the song I've chosen. Accessing the music via laptop works fine.

Thanks

Are you trying to use ARC? What do you want it to default to?

Yes, I'm using ARC. HDMI 1 should be the default. It just seems to randomly switch over to AV1.
ARC can be finicky. I have no use for it. Good luck.
My opinion on ARC is that they installed it while it still being in beta. They haven't gotten around solving all the major bugs so it's a roll of the dice. I live without it.

You might want to post that in the 673 thread. It is more active.

For your #1: you should use a speaker switch that has built in impedance protection. If you just double up speakers at the posts the 671 may deal with it or it may burn up the amp over time. IE, you typically have say 8 or 6 ohm speakers and amps/receivers are designed for that "impedance load". Doubling them up will increase the load, possibly beyond what the amp can support.

Can't say for number two. I've never researched any wireless speaker configurations etc.

Cheers

What about Pandora, etc.?
Never signed up for Pandora or Rhapsody.
Pandora is free. You should try it.
