It was worth waiting 10+ years to upgrade my RV-1105, my 671 delivered today, unboxed, HDMI input switching flawlessly + wirelessly streaming Pandora in under 20 minutes, no gaming adapter, no setup whatsoever. Sweet.
Test driving the 671 tonight w/ a 40" Sammy LNT4061F before new Vizio 55" LED arrives tomorrow. Connected only fronts, center and sub of older Infinity 750's, my cable t.v. box (HDMI in), PS3 (HDMI in), Sammy (HDMI out) and my wireless Airport Express (ethernet). My home network gear: Time-Warner cable modem to Apple Airport Extreme Base station (ethernet) + Apple Airport Express (AE) node (wireless). I ran a short piece of Cat-5 from 671 to open LAN port on the wireless AE, powered everything up and all I can say is wow.
Switching inputs & GUI is so damned elegant, < 1 minute to find 'network info' but no required setup. 671 auto-configured to LAN, wirelessly, no gaming adapter, and for 3 hours I've been building my newest Pandora personal channel, 'liking' songs
this is awesomeness.
Okay how 'bout the sound? Right out of the box, first few hours I cannot believe my ears - those Infinity 750s have never sounded so good... I have a set of Klipsch Quintet SL's on the way, but thinking I may use the 750's for extra surrounds and/or presence. Note: I'm a NYC dweller, modest room size.
Also - there are several iPad/iPhone apps - the one you want is v1.3 of AVcontrol, which also auto-detected my 671 without manual IP input.
Cannot WAIT for my Vizio to get here tomorrow. Will update when I have the new toys all set up.
