Signal Strength = 100 - Reception is OK???

I got my Radio Shack Bow-Tie set up, found the best place to get a solid 100 signal strength on both CBS and FOX, and yet the reception is still only OK.

On CBS, which is the one I care about, the video is close to perfect, but there are frequent audio drop-outs.

Any ideas?

I live in NYC.

Are you getting any video drops or freezing? I've never had a reception problem that was exclusively audio, so I may be off base, but...

I'm in Chicago, about 1 mile from the tower. Lots of tall buildings, metal and concrete construction. It sounds like it could be multipath interference. Signal strengths don't seem to correspond from one receiver to another, but I've had some channels that were solid and watchable at low 50's, but frequently dropping out in the 70's. My RCA signal strength seems to move up and down a few points when this is happening. I actually had one station that wouldn't come in clean until I hid the antenna behind the TV on the floor.
