Frohlich's remodeled room

We just had a contractor come in and remodel our family/HT room. We had him tear down all the walls, ceiling and carpet and put up new drywall, hardwood floors, french doors, trim,etc.. In that process I was able to install in wall wires to get ready for the in wall speakers. I also was able to design the in wall av cabinet he built for me. We still need to decorate since they just finished the job last week.

Thank you for the kind comments. I am very pleased with how the room turned out. I had to include a picture of my dog because he is so darn cute and he happened to be in the room while I was taking pictures.

I am curently running the ceiling speakers as wides but might experiment with height configuration in the future.

The contractor we used was Freihofer and Wulfeck. This is the 3rd time we have used them (they previously built a master bedroom suite over our garage and then remodeled the kictchen). I have recommended them to several folks as they are just plain great guys but they also do great work and are always ahead of schedule. They did my buddies basement and are about to build a custom home for a coworker. If you need contact information for them feel free to send me a PM and I can send it to you.

The kinect is for the kids...the deck speakers are for me. I love to sit out on the deck and work on my laptop and have some tunes going.

Love the picture of your dog next to the sub. Ours is a Yorkie Poo. Didn't think I would love a lap dog as much as our previous bigger dogs but he is such a great little guy with the most loving personlity. He was bought for our girls last summer but he is loved by all

We just finished the room and have a little decorating work to do. My wife wants to buy a new rug for the room (the one in the picture was borrowed from another room just to tame the acoustics temporarily). I haven't thought about painting the grills but might try it down the line..I could always paint it back to white if I needed to.

The deck speakers are Paradigm Stylus 370 and I am using a Parasound 2 channel amp to drive them. I had Polk deck speakers before the remodel and one fell down and cracked as I was running new wire to the deck speakers. Thats the story I told my wife and am sticking with it

Yes, it is a Kinect for the XBOX 360 which is the motion sensing gaming technology. I just ran the wires behind the wall while they were framing the room so it could look seemless once finished. Previously we always had to manually hook it up each time the kids wanted to use it and had to run a wire through the room and I have kid's friends and nephews that were just waiting to trip on it and ruin it

Thanks. When I was planning the room I was struggling with finding a corner cabinet that would fit my room so I asked the contractor if I could design it myself and he could build it. He said of course...for a price I do like the way the cabinet turned out...and it was my idea and design

The NAD amp weighs over 100lbs. Not sure that means anything outside of being a #$%^^ to move around I bought it to power my Thiel speakers since they are rated at 4/3 ohm.

Wife bought a new rug for the HT room...maybe I should get revenge and get a new 65vt30 to replace my 65vt25...it is already 6 months old after all :-)

Thanks. The rack was almost an afterthought as I couldn't find an AV cabinet that was "just right". I designed it and had the contractor build for me...he did a good job

Thank you for the kind words gentlemen. I can not take credit for the remodel job as I outsourced it to my contractor. This was their 3rd job at our house and they have always done nice work. I did do all the wiring myself after everything was framed but before the dry wall went up. The biggest pain was wiring the av cabinet as there is no rear or side entry. Had to basically run all the wires ahead of time before the equipment was in and then do the av equipment last.
