Thanks for your listening impressions between the LMS 5400 and the JBL 2242. I had a suspicion that this would be the case with LMS inductance being greater than the 2242. To me, I rather have the better sounding driver than the low-end boom boom.

The 2242 is only really a 'sub' in PA terms where it's used to >35Hz. Mechanically they are very tough with a much higher Xmech/Xmax ratio than HT sub drivers.
Terrific midbass drivers for home. I have used and owned a lot of these and 2241 in PA use and never broken one.
These drivers are no slouch when it comes to the 20-40 hertz region either. I think most people would be pleased with the output that these drivers can produce down to 20-25 hertz region. I was actually surprised by how much these drivers can move.
