Except am I the only one that notices that they have a few SD cameras that they have just stretched?... my wife kept asking why the golfers look short and fat in many shots. CBS can't afford a few more HD cameras?

Bob, It looked great in hendersonville. I'm itching for the other stations to go on the air so I'll have something to watch this summer.

Hi all,

I was very excited to see the Master's golf tournament on CBS in HD this weekend. It was fantastic!! However, it dropped out a lot during the weekend. My "signal strength" on CBS (29 uhf) is pegged at 100, on the external Hughes DirecTV HD receiver. I am wondering why it was dropping, with occasional pixeling, several times an hour, also with audio dropouts, that required me to switch channels and then come back and it was ok. I will post this on some of the other forums as well, to see if others had the same problem.

Wondering if it was CBS or something with my installation/equipment.

Thanks..Dave

I noticed it as well. It appeared they also used older cameras on the early holes, as some shots looked like they were 480 and 4:3.

All day, the shots that were "behind" the players as they hit, all looked like 4:3 and 480.

Now I understand that this is the first time we have had 18 holes of TV coverage, however I would have thought that CBS had enough $ to add more HD cameras.

Notice Mitsubishi was all over it with HD advertising. These are the type of events we need to really propel HD to the masses.

Just talked with a Channel 5 engineer who said one viewer complained about the sound on the HD coverage of the Masters. Anyone else have any problem? I didn't.
