Trouble with adding analog channels. hardware or WMC issue?

Hi,

Not sure if it is the hardware of WMC.

I have two tuner cards, a WINTV HVR1850 with both digital and analog tuners and an Avermedia Duet with 2 digital tuners over 1 input. So a total of 3 digital and 1 analog tuner.

If I connect my cable wire to WMC I can get QAM channels - normally have to map them manually.

If I connect the same cable wire directly to my television, it will scan the channels and it will display both digital and analog channels.

On channel 50 on my tv I get the FOOD Network. But when I try to add 50 through WMC I get static. In WMC I am adding it as a regular channel because I believe it is analog. The same goes with other analog stations.

Am I doing something wrong in WMC? How should I narrow it down to either the analog tuner going bad or something with WMC?

Thanks.

On your TV do you get both channekl 50 (analog) and 50-1(digital)?
Have you tried using the Hauppauge WinTV application on the PC instead of MC to get analog channel 50?

On my tv I only get 50.

WinTV always crashes - the software sux in my opinion. I always have to spend time with tech support to get it to work and then I use WMC for a few months and go back to it and it no longer works.

Is there another simple program I can use to test? Something no frills, easy to setup.

If you were using JUST the Hauppauge card - their WinTV7 works pretty well. I myself prefer WinTV6 with my Win HVR1600.

Thanks. But that does not help me. WinTV always crashes. I really dont feel like spending hours debugging it which is what it will take,

I am happy with WMC - just want to figure out the problem with the analog channels.
