Sweet! I guess the fact it's U.K. doesn't matter?

OK thanks for the info. On the Get Games website, the UK delivery zone was making me hesitant to buy from them.

I nabbed F.E.A.R.3 and Borderlands (1) GOTY because - why not. biggrin.gif

Cool, thanks! cool.gif I got Sonic Generations (Steam) for $5.62.

Choose wisely, the CAGROCKS coupon only works once per account. I think the wife needs the Borderlands 2 Mechromancer Pack. wink.gif

Good deal but I haven't seen anything I have to have.
Here's a crazy-good bundle, providing you don't have many of these games. Only one non-Steam game (Battlestations Pacific) in the batch.

Ok, about to pull the trigger on Bioshock Infinite pre-order:

Green Man Gaming has it for pre-order at $60, plus Bioshock 1 and an additional game (Bioshock 2, Spec Ops: The Line, Civ V, Mafia 2, Darkness 2) instantly via Steam, PLUS $14 cash back or $15 credit for a future order.

I've been wanting to play through the previous Bioshocks in anticipation of #3 coming out next month, and I don't own them on PC, so this seems perfect for me. Just hoping Infinite proves to be worth the hype.

I noticed that deal. I own all those games so I'm not so interested in the extras, I'm only interested in the best deal for Bioshock Infinite. I really dislike that PC games are now starting to be priced like console games @ $60.

Didn't we learn our pre-order lesson last week with Aliens? smile.gif

I know, right? biggrin.gif

I'm chalking Aliens up a one-time bad decision. Fingers crossed Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite pre-orders are going to be good experiences. If not, THEN I will have learned my lesson. redface.gif
post #411 of 820
I stopped preordering games. Not worth it. The prices drop too quick.

Last game I preordered was Sleeping Dogs. At least that was fun.biggrin.gif

"No. I already pre-ordered Bioshock $40."

"I'm chalking Aliens up a one-time bad decision. Fingers crossed Tomb Raider and Bioshock Infinite pre-orders are going to be good experiences"

$40 + $40 +40 = $120

$60 + $60 = $120

One in three bad pre-orders at great discounts equals just buying it for stock retail once you actually know the game is good. Pre-orders are like casino roulette. It's a sucker's game.
My pragmatic side takes over every once in a while and here is where I end up...

The better question may not be why waste $ on pre-orders, it's do I really need this new game when I already have so many games that have yet to be played.

And then even better yet, what else am I missing out on by spending hours playing games (and for some that's not time spent with loved ones but sleep which is still fairly important AFAIK).

I have more games than time, and I wind up re-playing known, good games instead of trying out untested, unproven ones.

My days of pre-ordering are almost exclusively long gone...GTA5 maybe...maybe.....but otherwise? ITs just another shooter, just another racer, just another 3rd person at this point for me.

Anyway, back to the game deals....

Dark Souls, one of my favorite games, $15 on amazon. Steam download. I don't think I saw it in the farewell to feb list, but one of the enemies is in the banner. So it must be.

...and disc version of Far Cry 3 is $30.

OMG I'm going blind trying to read AVS right now.......where's my dark background gone? green text!? Egads.......(yes I'm logged in and set to DARK motif).

Crysis 3 at max detail on my overclicked 670's with a 4.8Ghz i7.........crushes into the low 30's in some scenes....and just to give you an idea, a stable framerate at 60-65fps indoors in one scene (max everything EXCEPT AA, which was set on FXAA cuz its all I really need)......I blew up a barrel which caused physics to fly around and the framerate dipped down briefly into the 20's....then ramped up again. Jinkies, not sure if its the physics, the shadow/postprocessing happening in that instant or what but.......it was sobering smile.gif

Those of you with dual 690's, your justification game has arrived!

On the upside the game looks good even in low detail mode...its just the shame you feel inside setting the game to low eek.gif
