Robert being the father of the 3 children is also where the children and House Lannister draw there power from. It was also confuse the hell out of newcomers who stumble upon that guide when they first start watching the show.

Speaking of the map panning intro .. am I the only one that thinks it's one of the best lead ins ever done for a show .. ??

I feel the same way about it. Definitely consider it to be the coolest show open I've ever seen.

If it can kill you, you can kill it since it is in our physical realm? Just a thought from my early childhood that was never answered.

You're correct but we have no evidence shadow baby can't be killed. It snuck up on Renly and stabbed him in the back, so it could manifest a solid, um, knife. Possibly Renly could have killed it, if he knew how and had the opportunity.
There do appear to be limits to magic in this realm, but we don't know what those are.

Not quite as good as Carnivale-one could spend hours studying that one. But GOT is a solid 2nd place. HBO definately knows how to suck you into watching

I still don't care for the steampunk and visualizing it on the interior surface sphere of an astrolabe doesn't work for me.

I'd rather have had the raven.

Rome and American Horror Story are also in the race, IMO.

Not to mention South Park history class going over the history of the GoT realm and families. (I missed this if it was mentioned already here.)

Agree with this. GOT is the best of currently airing shows though. It's about the only "Long"intro that I watch every week m

I'm a little upset that we havnt seen storms end in the intro yet because it seems that the castle in mentioned in almost every episode. Isn't that where Renly was when he met the shadow baby?

The wife always comments on how "perfect" the intro music is for the show...

It's only mentioned they're in the Storm Lands. Not at Storm's End in particular.

no argument here. watch it all the way through each week and see which houses/kingdoms are shown in the flyover.

Not detecting much disapointment from the group here that season two shows pace and interest is way below season one. I am finding that not much really happens here in season two. Along with some others, I also find myself a little lost with as many characters in play. Probably me, my memory for names is not that great.

At least for myself I find the character development going on very interesting. I don't have that much issue with keeping up with the characters though so maybe that's part of it. The pacing doesn't bother me at all as I know this is all build up to something big. I didn't expect this to be a fast ride and after I read the 1st book it made me appreciate the show that much more. The books this is sourced from is very slow paced and long.

If people were looking for a lot of battles or faced paced action then they will be disappointed IMO. For one they don't have the budget for it and 2 the source material is pretty long winded to begin with.

You just saved me some time and $$$ by talking me out of reading the books.

If we weren't prohibited from discussing the books in here, I would argue about them being slow and long-winded. I might say that they are so eventful and epic in scope that they require a great deal of space to fully tell the tale. But that would be against the rules, so I won't do that.

Thanks for elaborating on what you chose not to go into detail about.

Best episode in a long while. Loved the scene when the young girl was worried about being recognized. Great suspense!

It was done quite well, although I'm not so sure Littlefinger didn't recognize her after all, he may be banking that knowledge for future use.

Of course he is lol without a doubt he knows who she is. It is of his best interest right now not to say anything since she is safer where she is.
