She represents all those swept up by events bigger than themselves, and just trying to survive. Not sure what good decisions she has available at this point. Trust Littlefinger? Go off into the wild with the Hound? She's stuck where she is until maybe Robb comes to free her, or Dany.
I agree that Sansa has been doing all right under the circumstances. She is just a young girl who had a sheltered upbringing and a head filled with romantic notions. She has learned hard lessons, though. She is no longer the naive doofus she was. She has developed the ability to keep her thoughts to herself and do what is necessary to survive. She knows she must place her faith in one powerful man or another, she just has not yet divined which powerful man it should be.

Dany gets her mojo ( and the dragons) back. I still think she'll be the one to beat in the end. And Westoros may just need her dragons if the Deathwalkers make it over the wall.
Sansa suppressed a smile after she was dumped and was walking away. Maybe, just maybe, she's not as dumb or weak as I thought and maybe she's planning on sticking around to see Joffrey taken down or is starting to think she'd like to get a little revenge on her own wink.gif
Arrya may get some assassin training biggrin.gif
All in all - quite satisfying, except for waiting 9 months for more! frown.gif

I've never thought she was dumb or weak .. for her age, considering her circumstances, she's "played the game" very well ..

I believe she should allign with the Hound and take him up on his offer to esacpe ..

Remember, earlier this season Tyrion caught Master Pycelle spying on him and leaking information to Cersei. His mistrust is well placed.

I must admit I was one of the doubters redface.gif

But that smile she cracked in the finale indicates she's learning how to play their game. Play the sad, dumped queen-to-be-not, then privately rejoice she's not going to have to marry the Sadist after all. What she does in next season will be fun to watch. I think we may yet get to see her try to get even with Joffrey for killing her father.

Also, I have to add 1 more thing that I was pleased to see in the finale (how could I forget) -

Tyrion isn't letting his sister attempt to have him killed deter him. And Shae is staying with him.
The Imp is smarter than all of his relatives & he knows it.

I may be the only one that thought Sansa was playing along and doing what she needed to do soon after ending up at Kings Landing .. her scenes always seemed shaded in a degree of sarcasm .. just me, I guess ..

The outrage I felt when Tyrion ended up being stripped of position, moved into a tenement and apparently now an outcast .. I guess I should not have been surprised ..

I don't get all of the Sansa hate in this thread and the people acting like it should be a simple solution to go with the Hound or with Littlefinger.

You're asking this girl to trust either the person that has served Joffrey as long as she has known him or Littlefinger, the person that helped betray her father.

I'm personally not a Sansa hater .. I believe she should escape with the Hound because he's already saved her life once, he's obviously fed up with Joffrey and he may view her as the daughter he never had .. kind of a Beauty and the Beast thing ..

I dont think its a matter of hate, rather fustration lol...Im not one of them.....BUT we msut remember that Ceresi gave her some advice that she may begin using.....The strongest weapon you have is between your legs......That added to what Littlefiger toldder her, shee may start to weild her power to take Joffery down eventually.....She was almsot elated that she was dropped (she knows he is bad) but is putting on a good front for everyone since she knows that her situation is a dangerous one....

It makes me wonder if her plan is to stay close to Joffrey and hope she has a chance to take revenge for Ned ..

i think that ship has left harbor. the hound is not in kings landing waiting for her to come join him.

I actually teared up a little in the scenes with Maester Luwin. He's not the spiciest character in the story but he's a solid old geezer and another example of how amazingly good the casting has been in this show.

The contrast to the amusing resolution of Theon's moment in the spotlight and Luwin getting speared made it even worse. At least with Ned you could see it coming and that made it a bit easier to digest.

From what I understand from interviews of the show runners, if they do a longer season there would be more than a year between seasons. This is a very complex series to produce with the large cast of characters, story lines, and different locations, not to mention the cost.

That's my view of Sansa as well. She hates Joffrey and wants revenge, therefore she refuses to leave King's Landing until she gets it. Can't wait to see what happens. I also agree on Tyrion. Shae staying with him brought him to tears. Ah, love! smile.gif

Kingslanding has been an education for her. certainly. And she seems the one Stark malleable enough to actually benifit from what shes learned. I liked the discussions she's had in the last two episodes with the Hound, Cersei and now Littlefinger where she pretty much absorbs what they say without comment or protest, filing it away for future reference. She's gone from being a spoiled brat to being abused and humiliated to the point she would do anything just to survive, and I think she's learned a lot from her ordeal. Got a long way to go, but she could be the one Stark that might actually excell at the game of thrones. Since one of the themes of the story seems to be strong women learning to prosper in a male dominated society (Cercei, Arya, Brienne, Theon's sister, for example), its kinda fascinating to compare Sansa's journey of self discovery to Daenerys. They could be the opposite sides of the same coin, which makes me wonder if they will be major forces in the final endgame of the series... or she could be beheaded, who knows?smile.gif Margaerly(sp) could be a major wildcard in the game-she seems to know what she wants and how to get it.

Never watched the series, so my girlfriend's friend lent us the first season on DVD (I know, I know). Watched the full season in 2 days, and then ended up watching the second season within a week. I loved the show so much I went out and bought the first season on blu-ray.

Also, if anyone has a bunch of extra money ($30k, plus $1.8k shipping), and you want a nice seat to watch your movies in, I've got a treat for you. :P

I too was outraged by Tyrion's treatment at the hands of his father and sister. Tyrion's brother Jamie is the only member of his immediate family who is loyal to him and even Jamie had betrayed him earlier. Tyrion's tragedy is that, despite his brilliance and courage, his deformity (and his big mouth, too) probably serve to insure that he will never rise to a permanent position of power. Tyrion is a tragic figure in the truest sense of the word.

Pater Dinklage is, hands down, the most improbable TV star in the history of the medium. That is attributable, of course, to what an appealing and endlessly interesting character Tyrion Lannister is. We all owe a debt of gratitude to George E.E. Martin for his creation.

As well as Peter Dinklage's acting ability to bring life to this character.

Indeed, without the actor to breathe life into the character on screen, it would be jsut anotehr charactter. If PD didnt do a good job, things would be totally different no matter how well the character was written...
It goes hand in hand...Tyrion is the smartest character, get's the best lines and just happens to be a dwarf. Dinklage is a fine actor with a wicked sense of humor, that just happens to be a dwarf. Match made in heaven and PD gets his dream job...a leading man. If you look up his IMDB page, he's got a bunch of projects in the works. This role really has opened things up for him and maybe some of those roles are leading characters as well.

As far as other dwarf actors that could pull the role off...Warrick Davis comes to mind and there maybe others, but D&D had Dinklage in mind and they got their guy...good for everyone.

Lost with this post what are you referring to? Hbogo? This show deserves to be watched in HD with surround sound. The bass from the boats exploding was quite good. The picture on HBO HD while quite good is nothing compared to the beauty of the Blu-rays though.
