I disagree. If I was visiting the throne room, and I saw a tiny dragon skull next to the throne, I'd think "eh, what's the big deal about dragons? That thing's puny!" But if I saw the skull of a BIG one, I'd be thinking "OMG! The Targaryens are masters of those things? They have to be ultimate badasses!"

Well even if it was feasible to place that huge skull they showed in the first season next to the throne you would be incorrect about the importance of the final skull, no matter what size it was. You can find actual examples in history where prominence was given by monarchy to the last example of a species.

Of course everything we have seen in the show has proven that no matter the size dragons are feared. The Dragons Dany has are small, yet look at the fear and damage they cause...

Taking a quote from LOTR:

“Even the smallest person can change the course of the future”.

I think you're comparing apples to chariots.

Can someone please explain why the Targaeryan kings would want to wipe out dragons? I thought the dragons were their allies like Dany.
Guess skulls are important here wink.gif

Great epp. Like the history tidbits & Dragons!

Who doesn't want a room full of dragons during a negotiation.
The scene reminds me of spy movies where the villain feeds meat to dogs, sharks, crocks, etc.
Daenerys new long title and Dragons trump the lot - Agree?

They died out. The last dragon, that baby dragon, I don't think was a baby. It was stunted because they were bred in captivity, was how I remember it.

Ok so Lord Bolton is going to free Jaime, but I'm guessing Rob knows nothing about this--so is he making a play?...thinking that House Bolton will replace the Starks as Rulers in the North? Since Tywin is already making a play for the North by marrying Tyrion and Sansa, I doubt he'd go for that. I'm guessing the guy that's holding Theon is Bolton's son--the one he told Rob he'd send to Winterfell. The horn that let Theon know that he was surrounded, sounded very much like the one used in the dungeon...and if I remember correctly, that guy said he was a better hunter than Theon--making it sound like he meant to go after the youngest Stark boys...so it's looking more and more like Bolton is the one that set Winterfell on fire and killed all of those people, which is why the old medicine man told them to go to the Wall--they couldn't trust the prominent houses in the North.

Also, Jaime mentioned that Bolton is going to the wedding--since I now think of him as an enemy to the Starks, AND that Frey guy was snubbed when Rob didn't keep his word and marry one of his daughters (The way everyone but Catelyn was being so dismissive of Frey...)--I'm wondering if this wedding might be a trap set by them to kill Rob. It looks like they're setting it up so that Rob gets killed and maybe his queen gets away while pregnant with the heir to the North...or she could get killed instead, making Rob go bat crap crazy...something bad is about to happen at this "wedding", I can feel it in my bones.

It's still bothering me that the Starks don't play the game...why doesn't Rob have someone like a spy in the North, and at Harrenhal?...they're too trusting and it's becoming more and more frustrating.

Agreed.
However, Joffrey is deathly afraid of his grandfather....and he damn well better be.wink.gif

Last but not least I know the #1 complaint tonight will be the scene with Theon biggrin.gif his continued torture and the sadistic behavior of the man who has him.
This whole Theon thing is torturing the audience.

The Stark girls are really getting whiny - Aria is a kid, so I can excuse it. And I like her overall demeanor. Sansa, however... has her character matured any since the first season? Doesn't seem like it - she's like a lost puppy who will follow anyone that shows her the slightest hint of affection and good will.

My favourite story-arc these past few episodes has been between Jaime and Brienne.

Seasons 1 & 2 lost alot of big characters but season 3 who has been the only big loss so far Commander Mormont ? so it definately seems we are long overdue.

Probably due to the split nature of this season but still.

Thats why Joffery usually has one of his men handle his dirty work wink.gif

Funny you should say that after this episode. Pretty clear she was female when she was fighting the bear...

Audience fell this week to 6.0 million from last weeks record 6.8 million....wonder if the slowness of recent eps caused newcomers to bail.
^^^^ it they're newcomers they're probably lost on how the characters relate to each other with the complicated back stories. I know I get momentarily lost every now and then frown.gif

I would've thought the Theon sex/torture scene would've captured their attention... maybe even newcomers are tired of his never-ending torture tongue.gif
post #2993 of 4588
I don't think the writers can win.

On one hand, they can spend more time in each episode on each story line, but then we'd only see certain storylines occasionally and weeks apart. And people aren't happy.
Or they can show a little bit of all the storylines all the time, but you don't tend to get much resolution on any of them except over a long time. And people aren't happy.

If there is anything to complain about this season, it is this stupid and ridiculous storyline.

You just gave Charlotte Hope a sad. Apparently they have airplanes in Westeros too, because I saw a landing strip. biggrin.gif

That's an old dragon landing strip... you missed the feeding trough at the end of it.

I was going to mention that tongue.gif If they're going for technical accuracy, then there wouldn't have been a landing strip in Westeros, only jungle wink.gif Too bad that Stephanie Blacker was more modest.

Hardly. My team is:

Margaery Targarien - Rookie of the year.
Tyrion Lannister - Triple Crown winner (Wit, Effectiveness and pound for pound best with the ladies)
Aria Stark - Scariest up and comer. Eerie when she answered about her god.
Bronn - Best supporting knee breaker
Jamie Lannister - Comeback knight of the year. From vastly despised to ?

and for Most Valuable Player and emerging Empress:

Daenerys Targaryen

I vote for technical inaccuracy in this regard.
