My receiver is probably busted; therefore, what receiver would you recommend?
I don't mind going with a HTIB either, but price is a concern in India as customs duty raises the price by 40% or more.
I have the following:
Living Room:
-47" 1080p LCD TV
-XBOX 360 (1st gen - no HDMI)
-Nintendo Wii
-Apple TV 2
-HTPC (HDMI/Optical)
-DVD Player
-Cable Box (HDMI and Component)
Bedroom:
-32" 1080p LCD TV
-Apple TV 2
Future Living Room:
-Projector
I have Klipsch Quintet III speakers. My sub is busted, so will need a new one too.
If I go with a HTIB then I plan on using those speakers in the bedroom and buying a amp/receiver? something so I can connect the speakers to the Apple TV 2. The Klipsch speakers will remain in the living room unless the HTIB speakers are better. It can go both ways.
My current receiver is a HK AVR 247.
I've been looking at Yamaha, Onkyo, Pioneer and Denon.
Yamaha I have liked the RX-V667 but it's a little too expensive (42500 Rupees which is $945 USD).
I don't necessarily need 3D as I don't think they are up to the mark yet, but it doesn't hurt to have. Not an audiophile, but want good sound and video. Upscaling analog will be a plus for Wii and maybe ATV2. Esp because with the AVR 247, XBOX 360 is forced to be at 720p since it wont pass through 1080p via component.
