try a USB flash drive from different manufacturer, or a smaller one.
Thanks for the reply. I have tried 3 different usb sticks. One new 4gb and two others that I already had. All were formatted. The file downloaded from
Pioneer unzipped the copied to the usb sticks. All had same result did not recognize any data. The usb port is working it recognizes music and my ipod.
I don't think Pioneer is responding to my request because I bought my VSX-1121 thru Amazon.

I am trying to set up my 1121 to have multiple audio sources. I have a CD carousel and now have a Sonos Connect. The CD is using the coax input. How can I also connect the Sonos (or any other audio component for that matter, say a turn table). I believe the component audio inputs are not being used, but would I just then assign them to one of the unused inputs, so for example the Sonos would play when I select DVD?

Thanks,

Steve

well if you have the xpa-5. This amp have internal detection... you should not need any. more cables for the amp to turn on/off..the amp can sence. when you turn on or avr...the 1121-k. Also has a triger on the back .. a 1/8 " mini jack male to male cable...the xap-5. Also has this ....so you can do this as well
post #3096 of 3289
Thanks but i though the vsx 1121 did not have triggers on the back from reading in this thread

Hey everyone,

have you tried playing a .WAV file over the network? I mostly use .FLAC files, which play without any problems but I tried some proper .WAV files yesterday and the receiver gave me format error screen...though the specs clearly state 192KHz/24 bit WAV playback
thanks

Ok so I have searched search and I cannot find a solution. We just recently moved and I set up my home theater in our new basement. While the room is admittedly smaller than what we had before, MCACC dropped my channel levels so low that I have to now turn the volume to about -20db or higher just to have it at a comfortable listening level. Before I would get to about -27db and it was pretty darn loud. I have done all of the basic MCACC stuff i know how to do, like running the reverb and adjusting the time accordingly. I dont want to just start jacking up the channel levels bc I am sure I will destroy the imaging if i do that. Any thoughts?

well thats because your in a new room... every room will be different ...but u well not destroy the imaging if you take it up slowly ..enough to where you want it...and you have to remember that mcacc is not bible ..you will have to do some tweaking ..to get what you like... base on ur taste ... its the same thing that happend to me.. what i did is....( run the mcacc ..and go back in set the eq to my taste ..then the levels..set ur sub on plus ... then name the setting you like ..so you can identfiy it ... if you dont want to tweak then just run the mcacc and leave it ....dont worry about the vol/level"s just turn the volume ...

Hi all,

I have had my VSX-1121 for almost a year now, and I love it, however...I have it on a small shelf that sets on the floor, and it doesn't fit on the shelf. I am considering wall mounting my components. I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions for brands of wall mounts that have shelves big enough to fit the VSX-1121 including of course room enough behind for HDMI cables and others that need a decent bend radius.

Thanks,

J

I have had my vsx-1121-k for almost 13 months now. Last night I turned it on and had no picture and sound. I tried rebooting, resetting to factory defaults, and removing some HDMI cables but nothing worked. So I removed all cables and flashed the firmware to the newest version. That fixed the problem. Hopefully that won’t happen again to soon .

I'm coming up on a year with mine, and I've been experiencing something I haven't see here. Every once in a while when I turn everything on (TV, 1121, Dish box using my Harmony ONE) I get picture but no sound. I then have to power cycle the 1121 one or two times to get the sound to start. If I hit any buttons when I have no sound I get a loud clicking sound. I have done the software updates which hasn't helped.

Does this sound like an HDMI handshake issue?

Hum... sounds like an issue I've been experiencing from the start. For cable tv (well, satellite), I use the ALC sound mode. If I turn the receiver off at ALC, when I power on again the receiver, the sound pops. So I have to turn off the receiver at another sound mode, usually "auto surround". Then, when I power it on again, I just change to ALC and all is gone. Perhaps this will help you?

Interesting. I also use ALC most of the time. I will have to play with it a bit to see if that is the cause. You'd think Pioneer would've been notified of the issue and fixed it with a software update along the way.

ok....the issue here is with the 1121-k,s hdmi control board. or hadhshake ...@ nick_ WI don't use the stand by .. just unplug the unit for 9 sec's or less plug it back in and it will come back.....the thing with this is ..i think that pioneer is aware of the issue ..they do read our comments here....but a firmware may not take care of the issue...hopefully ..they come up with something.. to fix it ......

I have the vsx-1121 and all of a sudden it will not put out any sound or video. It has worked perfectly for a year now and this just started happening. It turns on and looks normal, however it won't put out video or audio from any source. This is really strange. Is there a fuse or some type of reset function?

ok.... reset will not work...just put the unit back on .. once its on if you still have no ..sound and picture ...just unplug it from ur power unit ..for 10 sec's then plug it back in ...then use stand by to power it on ..

Does anyone know if this receiver is 3D compatible with the Epson 5010 projector? Thanks!

am not sure what you mean by 3D compatible with the epson ...but the receiver is a 3D AVR....
Hi poineertop, thanks for your response, but I am aware that it is 3D ready. I own this receiver, but just bought the Epson 5010 projector, and have read about people having transmission problems with other 3D ready receivers. So i was hoping that someone on this thread also had a 5010 and could confirm for me that there are no issues sending a 3D signal through the pioneer into the 5010. Thanks!

Hello,

Purchased my vsx-1121-k Nov 2011 and never had a problem until now. Now when I turn her on, I get no HDMI video/sound out, TV just says no signal. I noticed the little red HDMI light on the right side will no longer light. I did the hard reset and the HDMI light will blink a few times like it is trying to connect and then will go out. I unplugged all the HDMI inputs from the receiver and plugged them directly into the TV and they all work just fine. Any ideas? Thanks!

I just noticed above, someone with the same problem and the fix was unplug while turned on and wait 10 seconds plug back in and power up in stand-by, I will try that after work. Last night I did power to stand-by, unplug and left it unplugged all the night and plugged it back in before I went to work and still no HDMI out. But will try the above fix. Thanks.

Is anyone here using the 1121 with an Outlaw Audio LFM-1 EX sub? How did you configure it? Are you using the crossover in the AVR? Is it possible to bypass that and use the crossover on the sub according to the speakers?

No ..on the bypass ..but have a question why? am not sure whats the benefit's ....when it comes to bypass ..you can configure the outlaw ..to work by using ur avr fronts ..to the sub.. but i still dont see the benefits of this way of hooking up the sub....most if not all avr subwoofer..xover points are form 80HZ to about 200HZ which common across the board .....

I had to flash the firmware with a usb drive to get my reciever to work again. I had not picture and sound and the reciever would freeze. I unplugged it several times but that didn't help.
