Happy Endings on ABC-HD - Page 6

I could watch Elisha Cuthbert more easily if she spoke intelligibly.  For a show that depends largely on spoken jokes, you'd think they'd insist on better elocution from their stars.  I can't count the times I had to turn on closed captioning to find out what Alex's line was because replaying at a louder volume still didn't make it clear.

As far as I know Kim Bauer is still alive and somewhere, I don't recall the last time I saw her talk to Jack or if they were going to see each other again.

Then again she does the dumb blonde so well..

In other matters, can we say Casey Wilson being the "mother" on HIMYM?

HIMYM's producers pride themselves on their consistency (though they have slipped up from time to time, of course).  Wilson is too tall and large-framed to fit with the leg-and-ankle view we had of the future mother in the episode "Girls vs. Suits."

At least Damon Wayans Jr. can make the occasional appearance in the role on "New Girl" that he gave up to return to "Happy Endings" when it got a pickup for second season two years ago; but the series that Wilson gave up to return to "Happy Endings" ("Retired at 35") has already been canceled (and her part had already been recast with Marissa Jaret Winokur [talk about not caring about dissimilarity of build; Winokur is about seven inches shorter than Wilson]).

So that USA plan fell apart. Goodbye show. You deserved a better network.

Uh, no. You can actually blame the downfall of Happy Endings on the writers. Season 1 was brilliant. The tone of the show has changed so much since then that I can barely watch the show anymore. It's become too Max and Penny centric. I little bit of them goes a long way, and the balance of them was much better in earlier episodes. Other, more likable characters, have suffered as a result with less screen time and less interesting dialog.

Less screen time with likable characters that the audience can relate to = less ratings.

That change in tone occurred in season 3 not season 2. In fact, season 2 had the highest ratings Happy endings ever got. The ratings drop from "not good" to "awful" occurred to the friday night move. My points still stands.

I thought season 2 was brilliant. Season 3, not so much.

I didn't realize that Casey Wilson was going to be on HIMYM Monday night, and that's why DrLar, who must have seen the full guest cast list, brought it up.  Well, she was, in a one-time guest shot, not as the mysterious future mother.

For me, "Happy Endings" took its unreversed turn for the worse when Alex and Dave took each other's hands in the Season 2 finale.

I saw the news of Casey Wilson being a guest star on HIMYM a while a go (maybe even here on HOTP) the real mom there wasn't listed, I should have known better.

Anyway I'm gonna miss Eliza Coupe, I hope either this show continues con cable or she gets another gig

Coupe and Kate Micucci were about the only people from "Scrubs" whom I miss.  Micucci, of course, has been all over the TV (and comedy club stages) since then.

It's not hype -- Happy Endings pickup talks are real at USA. May not be in time for tomorrow's upfront but they are proceeding...

I have no idea what some of you are saying about the show slipping in quality. It was still hilarious all season long (except maybe the leftover episode from season one they snuck in)

And all three women are gorgeous, IMO...
