Behringer Inuke DSP

The interface looks incredibly easy to understand, very straightforward. I have struggled a bit with the BFD, it's pretty confusing at first. This looks like a pretty good all-in-one solution. It's even going to be pretty cheap! I found it for $500!!!!

Based on those graphs it looks like they've limited the adjustability down to only 20hz, similar to their other products. Which stinks if you want to high pass lower. Though I guess one can do the same work around you linked previously.

I agree, even if this unit delivers true 3,000watts rms, it's a great deal at $500. The 6,000watts is probably "peak" power. The fact that it has a nice eq., it's small and light weight is nice. The 20hz eq. limit should be a non-issue with sealed box subs but if you have a ported or PR sub tuned below 20hz, you're going to be limited by the eq. if it has no high-pass below 20hz.

It looks like this unit has the potential to replace separate amp/eq. units. Hopefully, it will be in people's hand soon so we can hear some feedback!

Looks like a very nice and needed update to the graphic control of what was in the DCX2496, just using 2 channels. That should be a killer option for integrated subwoofer power and EQ. Now the question will be the response and power delivery below 20Hz... Anyone see any expected delivery dates?

Is there a processor only version? I don't want the amp.

I just read at hometheatershack.com that these units are supposed to be out somewhere between May/June, so if true, very soon! Also, why do they have the specs for two channel at 4/8ohm but no specs bridged at 4/8ohm?

Also, anybody has the dimensions of these units? H x W x D? How about the fans? Will they need to be replaced like the ones in the EP4000 or will they not run as loud?

AFIK the iNUKE and IPR are the same amp platform, the 6000 is for all practical purposes 2 bridged 3000's in one chassis. I'd have been REALLY REALLY interested in the iNUKE if it had the MAXBASS of the IPR.

Its about time that behringer realised that there we have been using their gear for ages and in the HT world we use frequencies below 20hz so come on and let us EQ below poxt 20hz.

That's just the amp. not the DSP. I did the same thing at first.

They recognize this, their MIC-2200 has controls to high pass from 12hz, and EQ to 10hz.

I too feel this product should be an enormous success if the response extends way down toward DC. WRT the output wattage, who knows but perhaps somewhere approximately 25%-50% lower than rated figures. I don't know how much class D experience they've got,...maybe their active speakers are class D, I don't know. It'd be nice if the front panel dsp display was a little bigger, and it'd be nice to have input and output options wrt connection type. That said, the back is sleek and simple, but I don't like those combo input connectors.

Ever since they announced this piece, I've been curious about getting my hands on one.

Even at $499, if it delivers 50% of what it claims it's one hell of a deal.

Hopefully now that it has two fans it will run a lot quieter.

Now that would be a huge blessing IMO. But with my luck it'll be twice as loud as my QSC 5050 ...

will the amp have factory programmed input power or will there be a switch?

I would like to have the switch but if I cant then I will just have to keep my eye on the Marathon 5050. I know it doesn't have the DSP but its the cheapest thing for me out there.

I spent a bunch of time researching the IPR line, I'm sure the INukes will have some "startling similarities" to the IPRs. I'm curious about the Maxbass feature, other than that it looks like the INukes may have a more comprehensive DSP.

The IPRs run very cool, especially if you are running 4 LR or 8 ohms bridged. The 1600 model will play quite low, for some reason the 3000 and 6000 are reported to have higher roll-offs (still below 20 hz though) which could probably be modified.

Regarding the idea of using a limiter such as that shown on these Inukes to keep from over-excursion, I am very interested but have a question. Looks like this limiter is based on voltage peak? If so, is it frequency dependant? If it is not, I see a problem with that. A driver's max voltage capability is frequency dependant, right?

How would these amps rate for full range use?

I could get two of these for my two way WG speaker system and ditch the DCX and two stereo rotel amps.

I will probably have to grab one of these. Judging from Behringer's current amplifier ratings which list the ep4000 as a 4kw amp when it is really a 2 to 2.4kw amp, Id guess that the 6000 is in reality a 3-3.5 kw amp. That is still plenty of power for this price range especially with the dsp built in. You can probably fudge a 14 or 15hz hpf with it but what sucks is you eat up most of your eq bands and processing just doing that. I would also like to see how the sub 20hz performance is with these. I don't actually plan to run subs with it (bi amped pa mids and highs) so it doesn't matter a whole lot for me.

According to the IPR thread the Peavey higher powered versions have their own HPF built in at 16 Hz.

I've been experimenting with Lab clones that maintain flat response to below 5 Hz and it's my opinion that the Berry will not extend that low, otherwise, it's output and SQ specs will take a serious dump.

The EP amps had a 5 Hz HP, but they were blatant copies of the QSC RMX platform, so the roll off and performance make sense.

There are also a spate of clones already available.

Ha! You don't have to "try" to get me to snatch one of the 6000's up. I thought you told me I should just shut up and do what you tell me to do. So that means I have no choice but to get one.

Seriously though, I do plan to get one as soon as they are available. I can test whatever I can once it arrives. It'll be nice to compare it to the Crest 8002 I'm borrowing now (thanks again Warp!).
