I thought it was appropriate to quote myself after today's service visit. I was told by the tech that my TV was "funtionally OK" and I was "being too critical." He had a raft of excuses. The flickering was caused by camera motion or the signal, but he didn't want to see me demonstrate it on a still image from my PC when changing the APL like nshydky described. The bright corner and DSE was from uneven panel wear even after I showed him the TV has over 700 hours of use, 50 of which are break-in slides, 5 hours of White Wash and 4 hours of Color Wash, Orbiter has been on and black bars cropped off from minute one. Or "No brand guarantees even color on a blank white screen." Then I had to stop him from peeling off the TruBlack Filter after I explained to him what it was and how that might cause the pink on white discoloration.
The vertical banding was a "digital problem." This must be the go-to BS excuse of lazy techs everywhere.

He said he will contact LG, but believes there is nothing he can do to fix the problems. He said there is no guarantee that a new panel will fix it. DUH! Not unless there is an old PZ sitting in some warehouse. I tried to show him the different boards from the AUSLLHR and AUSZLHR but he was uninterested. He was confident the Y-board had only 1 adjustment pot on it.
I knew I was in trouble when he claimed Samsung to be the most reliable TVs.
I'll let LG give me the run around for a while, but I think this TV will be for sale this year, not next. I'll probably get more money for it this way to put toward a Panasonic. I can live with slightly inferior color. I might even demo the 2012 Sharp Elite LED. If the motion is smooth enough, I might have to submit to a purchase on credit and I hate that. LG can eat a d!ck. I feel like I'm at a disco watching the City-Everton game right now.
