advice on new receiver

Looking for a new receiver to power a polk audio monitor series setup Cs2 center, monitor 70 L&R, Monitor 40 Surround sides/back and a KLH sub for now (will be upgraded eventually but it works for now). So I would need at least a 7.1 system but would like to eventually expand this (possibly another sub at least). I also like the 3 zones that each of these offer.
Here are the receivers that I am looking at

Onkyo 3008- This one is #1 on the list right now. I thought about the 3007 but am leaning towards the Audyssey MultEQ XT32 on the 3008

Denon AVR-4311Cl-Don't mind this one but it is a little more expensive than the onkyo.

Pioneer SC-35- Not sure if I want to settle with only 7.1 channel capabilities.

Those are the three that I am primarily looking at. I am open to other suggestions, I would prefer to stay under ~1100. The room that these are going to be in is pretty big with dimensions of 24' by 26' (only about half is used for tv viewing though)

Had a friend offer to sell me his onkyo tx-nr3007 for $600, is the multi xt32 worth the extra $600, his onkyo is a about a year old so still has a year left on the warranty so not worried about any of that. I just don't know if I should wait for the 3009 to come out and see the price drop in the 3008 (but how much more can they really add?!?!).

Any help would be appreciated!
