I really like this head unit. I have read the manual, and it seems like it has excellent control for an iPod - you can even store an iPod INSIDE the unit. It has also got great reviews. However I need one question answered:
Is it impossible to leave the iPod inside the unit while the car is parked? If I have to remove the iPod every time I leave the car, I ain't buying this unit. None of the product reviews mention this; all the manual says is that leaving the iPod in the unit may cause 'malfunction' but it does not elaborate. The manual also says that if the iPod is still inside the unit when the car is powered off, a 'Device Inside' message will appear. Can I safely IGNORE that message?
The warning can apparently be disabled, and I guess that is good. Plus I have an older iPod anyway; I really don't see how it could be damaged simply by leaving it there, especially since I do that NOW!
