can't go wrong with this price. Good reviews on amazon too. I've just placed my order :-)
I am running two old infinity RS10 floor standing speakers w/ an Energy m6 sub. I can use these to complete my 7.1 surround or put the RS10 on CL.

Would you say these are better than the Jamos 5.1 setups floating around NewEgg?

Same price on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/MartinLogan-ML.../dp/B0049P2000

I prefer buying from Amazon, since their return policy is so liberal.

I’m not sure of all the differences, but Amazon also has the MartinLogan-MLT-1 for $399. One difference, the 2 version has a 10” driver vs 8” for the 1 version. http://www.amazon.com/Martin-Logan-M.../dp/B003MRDHJY

Are they good speakers????

how if I compared with Klipsh 500 or Polk RM510 or RM710. which one are better??
This is essentially a Paradigm Cinema 90 system that has been modified and rebadged for Martin Logan. For the frequent sale price of $299 I can't see how you can go wrong.
You mean to say they are better than Klipsch 500 or Polk RM510 or RM705????
If yes I want to buy.

also I want to understand which is better in Polk RM510 or Polk RM705? I am not finding any good comparison.

IMHO, based on specs and reviews, the MLT-2 should handily outperform the Klipsch and Polk system. One thing of note, it is the only system that is actually rated within +/-3dB through it's frequency response range. The others have no rating at all, which is far more common. The ML/Paradigm systems were built for a different price bracket than the Klipsch and Polk system.

My first choice, would be the MLT-2

Had em. Great performance. For sale price

I know the Newegg sale has ended, but it comes up every 3 months or so. I'm curious though...

How does the Martin Logan MLT-2 system compare to the NHT AbsoluteZeros? Granted, the MLT-2 are satellites and the AbsoluteZeros are bookshelves.
  • The NHT AbsoluteZero has a larger mid-woofer (5.25").
  • Both sets feature a 1" high tweeter.
  • I already have a (Passive) subwoofer with my HTIB Onkyo HTS-3400 that I'll probably keep even though I know it's the weak link in the speaker setup. The receiver in the HTIB can only accommodate a Passive Sub, so I'd have to sell the MLT-2 sub.
Which speaker set would be better for a Crossover Frequency at 80hz or 100hz, taking my Passive Subwoofer into account?

I'm just really attracted to the smaller physical size of the MLT-2 since the intended setup is in the Living Room (with limited space availability). Not to mention, the Living Room is small'ish so I don't need something super crazy.
Audy has always set my mlt2 to 110hz. I think you should sell the onkyo and get an avr with a sub preout. The pdr10 sub that comes with the mlt2 is pretty good

New egg has the MartinLogan MLT-2 5.1CH Premium Home Theater Speaker System Black System on sale for $250. I'm thinking of putting these in for surrounds to remove my Bose Acoustimass 15 setup, and compliment my ML Motion 12 fronts. Bet the 7.2 setup would sound good.
NHT will crush these, provided you have a sub to add (which it sounds like you do).

They would be at least as good as the Bose, if not better. No special match to your fronts however - pretty different design - but not bad either.

That post is from 6/2012. But I agree the NHTs would be better than ML or Bose.

Would 4 Def Tec 350 mointors and a precenter 200 be better than the NHT's?

What are your guys opinion on the Pioneer SP-PK21BS 5.1 speaker system? I have this speaker set, but was also thinking of getting the MartinLogan MLT-2 5.1. Which setup would you guys say is the better one?
The Pioneers are better...larger cabinets, deeper bass.

MLT-2 sats only go down to 110hz and the center down to 130hz.
^^^^^^^ 1+ keep the pioneers.
Thanks for the replies guys, that was quick ....smile.gif I can't believe at one time these were a 1000 bucks. Sometimes I wonder if companies just markup prices at first and then start selling at the rate it should have been selling in the first place and call it a sale!
^^^^^^^ No way this speaker worth 1,000.
$169.00 for the MartinLogan MLT-2 5.1 CH Premium Home Theater Speaker System. That is the lowest I have seen these 5.1 speaker system @ newegg.
Are these good for a dedicated media room? I was looking at either the pioneers or the Denon with the Boston Accoustics 5.1 package. Then I saw this Martin Logan 5.1 package.

For $169 they are a great set. But if you are trying to setup a good system for HT usage in a dedicated room, better to save up a good bit more and get a better sub and speakers that can be crossed over at 80hz.
Can the pioneers do that? I wanted the pioneer bookshelves but they are heavy and finding a mount for them would be difficult. I know I need to save up for a sub I was looking at the Bic PL-200. Below is a picture of the roomygepuje3.jpg the wall where the screen will go. I just got the Optoma hd131xe in yesterday and waiting on my 120" screen from jamestown

Yes. The Pioneer Andrew Jones speakers and the BIC-PL200 would be a much better choice smile.gif
